Re: Football forum changes. Have your say/add your suggestions.A thread about Spanish and Italian football and none about German? The German football is taking over Italian from next year according to the 5 years ranking (if that matters). Also it is often very well represented internationally as well as in their league with top teams such as Bayern, Schalke, Dortmund, Hamburg, and Bremen.(Original post by JK.)
After recent discussion with a few members, there are some changes we'd be interested in making. If you could read about the changes below, give your opinion on them (even if it's just a simple for/against, preferably with reasoning) and also add any suggestions of your own, it'd be much appreciated.
Matchday threads

The main proposal is that of more individual match threads. Each week, there would be a main thread created with a list of all the upcoming fixtures and details of TV coverage, the main fixtures would have their own threads (which would be linked in the OP) for discussion and all other matches could be discussed in the initial thread.
This would mean that the societies are no longer used for match discussion in the way that they currently are, but more for general club news/discussion and some of the build up to matches in the week(s) before they take place.
Some of the advantages:
- Common thread for supporters of both teams (and neutrals) to discuss matches
- A place for supporters of teams which aren't well represented to post about and discuss their team's matches
- Less spam in the society threads - especially beneficial for those not online during a game
I'd like to thank the creative genius that is Colbert for his input with this suggestion.
Other ideas? (will add suggestions in the thread to this list)
I would suggest that if you create one about Italian football, then you need one about German football as well. -
Re: Football forum changes. Have your say/add your suggestions. In terms of the discussion generated on here, there is still more Spanish/Italian discussion than German which was the reasoning behind the separate threads, the German league is the next obvious choice if we were to split the European thread but as it's not being split it doesn't really matter.(Original post by muffingg)

Surely Leverkusen deserve a mention, too?

I hate them that's why I didn't mention them
Well, Leverkusen is some weird team really. Some seasons being awesome and some proper crap... -

I think if I had ESPN I'd watch the German and Italian leagues. Whenever I see an Italian game covered on Zonal Marking there are inevitably some weird and wonderful tactical forays that seem to be missing in La Liga and the Premier League

3 man defences ftw.
