Those defence barristers for the posh thugs played their part really well, you did just want to hit them...

Perhaps a law person here can clarify, I know that Clive was supposed to give the photos to the police so is getting done for that, but why not the letter he got from his buddy? That note to the posh thug could have been "Plead guilty or your family will be killed" for all anyone knew

Also, why did the journalist give the photos to Clive? Was it so she'd have an extra potential story if Clive didn't show them? She seemed like she wanted him to win, so I can see why she wouldn't give them to the dickhead barristers.

I think the journo thought they were giving her shut up money. It didn't really help Clive's case. As for the note...not sure. It wasn't evidence, but crim procedure isn't really my field.

Which side would the photos help though? Clive could argue the dad asked if he could pay her off and she refused. The dickhead lawyers could argue she demanded it and use that to imply she was making the whole thing up.

The journalist must have told the old dickhead lawyer she gave Clive the photos, but then she doesn't get as juicy a story. Bringing down a club like that would be huge, but a lawyer withholding evidence isn't too surprising, considering they're known for twisting evidence in their favour already. Yes I know withholding is far worse legally, but considering people know it goes on and lawyers are allowed to do something similar legally it won't be as big a story.

Why isn't the note evidence? It's evidence that is far more wide-reaching than that individual case, but is evidence in that case nonetheless.

I'm no expert on evidence law, so more than happy to be corrected on this, but the note was information about evidence, ie the pants, not e evidence itself. No doubt completely wrong in this.

The note was presumably "Posh thugs' stash is under the floorboards in so-and-so's room"? I suppose it isn't proper evidence in that there's still work to be done, but I'd still think the judge should have to check it to make sure it wasn't a threat of violence or something.

Yes, would have thought it was unorthodox, but then there are lots of unrealistic things which happen in this show. The pupil stealing the gown and wig in last series opening ep springs to mind...

I loved the competition between the three different women in the pub for Rupert. The way he got rid of the first one was bloody hilarious.

Martha's not competing for him I think she sees him as an idiot little brother. She did get a dirty look from the first woman which I hope doesn't get her into trouble later on, but probably will...

Yeah, but she's not interested anymore I think that was more of a celebration than romantic anyway.

What's going on with the Lady The Scottish Play storyline? Is she attempting to move to 'our' lot's chambers?

The court case this episode was a bit weak, I thought.

Jesus! Do you think you could be a little more discreet? I'm in enough bother with the BSB as it is.

Hey, you're the one stupid enough to do it in front of a television camera.

I didn't think a drug habit got your more than a slap on the wrist these days. (Or maybe that only applies if your daddy's a High Court Judge.)

I think you're fine. You got away with it when the hard evidence was broadcast on national TV.
