I have also been forced to do it. The excuse is that my school is a I.C.T + Maths specialist school. Along with being a Christian based school (meaning a forced R.S GCSE [which I sort of enjoy])
Already bagged 2 distinctions, and going for my 3rd.

distinction* is when you get distinction in EVERY tasks
not sure if you can do it on ICT (which i have to do too) but you deffinetly can on some stuff (like BTEC Art)
could be that it is just BTEC's and not OCR nationals though...

Hey, been wondering if a distinction star was possible to achieve if you're doing OCR Nationals ICT Level 2. So far, I haven't found any clear grade boundaries that would confirm this but I saw 2 reports on the OCR website and they only talked about pass, merit and distinction grades. I also have the grading sheets that describe what you should do to get each grade in each Unit and the only grades on the table are pass, merit distinction - don't get me wrong though, my friend said there is a distinction star if you get a really high distinction and I also heard about it alot.

So my question again: Is a distinction possible to get on the OCR Nationals ICT Level 2 course?

Thanks for reading my mini essay hehe
yh i done that stupid qualification last year got two distinctions which i think are equivalent to A*A I just found this powerpoint which shows the points its worth and stuff.

There is no such thing as distinction star all units are graded on pass merit and distinction even if you get distinction on every unit you still get an overall distinction i was just checking my certificate lol.

Um i think one A* is worth 58 points and it shows the number of points each qualification gets you i done the national award which is 2 gcses and gives 110 points so that would be equivalent to A* A because A* = 58 and A= 52

Arguable easier as it's pretty much coursework?

Oh and I suspect you get two grades, as opposed to one? (Good for the school).

If the latter doesn't apply, the former should.
Yeah ^ that's right. You get 2 GCSE's if you choose to do 4 units instead of 2. If you get distinctions overall in all the units, you get 2 GCSE equivalent grades; an A and A*.

I'll tell you this now: it is a pretty much worthless qualification.
All GCSEs are worthless, except from the core subjects....

I done that in GCSE and there is no such thing as Distinction star lol

It is possible to get the highest grade (Distinction) but it is very boring and you have to work a lot, otherwise the coursework will take over you :sadnod:

I hated it. But still got 4 Distinctions

Edit: I would pick something else if I were you :yep:
same here jus finished it...absolutely HATED it but what do you know?

Like someone else said - you cannot get an A* at GCSE on the OCR nationals level 2 course - the only plqce where distinction* defintely exists as ar as i know is in Edexcel BTEC courses
