Re: Apple conference - March 2nd - Ipad 2???A) Yes. iOS updates were regular enough anyway but Apple don't really have a choice anymore when it comes to updating their phones and tablets. Android's too great a competitor now with numerous manufacturers pumping out an ungodly number of devices a year. Apple need annual refreshes or they're just going to get left in the dust.(Original post by darksideday)
Do you think the iPad is about to go on the same cycle as the iphone and the nintendo ds by making continuous models every year.
B) The DS has not been on an annual cycle:
DS: 2004
DS Lite: 2006
DSi: 2009
3DS: 2011 -

Re: Apple conference - March 2nd - Ipad 2???
It's basically rumoured to be a thinner and lighter version of the iPad with a front facing camera, although the SDK apparently hints at a rear facing one as well. Some sources have suggested that it'll have a reduced screen bezel from the original and an overall gentle specs bump.
Regrettably you won't be getting the Retina display or similar on it this year. -

Unfortunately. -
Re: Apple conference - March 2nd - Ipad 2???And Apple will still manage to sell them like hot cakes. Even though it has no proper uses besides internet and a big screen for apps.(Original post by ch0llima)

e.g. I use it for presentations and PIM when travelling. -
Re: Apple conference - March 2nd - Ipad 2???Finances really. Apple products aren't cheap and having to buy one every year isn't exactly everybody's favourite way of spending their hard earned money - especially knowing your £500 iPad is now not the latest model after only a year.(Original post by H.C. (i) Most tech manufacturers bring new/ updated products to the market on a more frequent basis than apple.
(ii) why on earth would someone have to buy a new product each year.
(iii) Why would it bother me that I do not have the latest model?
strange. Very strange. -
Re: Apple conference - March 2nd - Ipad 2???You can use a netbook or laptop. Would it not make more sense to buy a netbook or laptop which can do all the things a iPad does (except for apps but it has proper software to replace that) and more.(Original post by H.C. Chinaski)

Re: Apple conference - March 2nd - Ipad 2???Oh, I have a netbook and a laptop too ... but to answer your question, the ipad makes perfect sense for on the fly presentations...(Original post by SAK.A)
