It might be a bit geeky.. .. but it's a great film, a good book and a fantastic story.

Tolkien is a genius.

I love LOTR.

Self-confessed Geek (I capitalise it as I see it as a title rather than a label :colonhash:) though.

Hehe, I personally hate that sig. I dislike the influence from the movies and the combination of that couplet and Legolas, but that's just me.

Lord of the Rings itself isn't geeky, but it can be. For instance, I'm a Tolkien Geek: I play Lord of the Rings: Online and various other games; I am teaching my self Sindarin and Quenya; I am studying Tolkien and writing various articles on him; I have nearly all his books and have read most of them; I've bought most books or anthologies dealing with him; and more. Pretty geeky, really.

Since when was 'awesome' the opposite of 'geeky'?

Surely LOTR can be both?

Anything with such an elaborate back-story will be considered geeky. Star wars, star trek, LOTR...

I'd have thought people would've grown out of these silly labels by now . . .
It is, but, in spite of myself, I used to be a MASSIVE LotR fan.

 You really wouldn't think it if you knew me.

Edit: I'm gonna watch LotR:RotK tonight now. :ahee:

No! It most certainly is not and if it is then I'm proud to be a geek! Even if it does mean awkward silences after quoting random lines in the middle of conversations.

You say 'geek' like it's a bad thing.
