York For Computer Science

I have applied to York to read Computer Science and have now received a conditional offer. What are job opportunities like after graduating from York.

Do you think I would be able to find a job with a large multi national or aby other company that would pay well after graduating from this university.

Any help would be appreciated

The course at York is a good one but I think that it is slightly behind other Uni's in the destinations figures for graduates (although my memory could be faulty due to the fact I that I haven't looked the the table for months now). This is where your hoping that Pencil Queen can interject with some relevant stats to enlighten us!!! :wink:

I accepted york as my firm choice for Comp Sci a few weeks ago so I certainly hope it has a decent graduate employement rate! :smile:

I accepted york as my firm choice for Comp Sci a few weeks ago so I certainly hope it has a decent graduate employement rate! :smile:

Some very colourful destinations there, the road for us CompSci peps is a rocky one to take due to the saturations in the Computing sector and such. However, being considered a numerical discipline... we can dance elsewhere in finance if we ever have a problem finding a programming job. :smile:

No, no I didnt mean to insult Yorks employment rate, I just meant that it is a bit lower than some of the similarly well respected uni's around it (still very impressive though) according to the tables!!! Im sure you'll have a great time at York (and Leeds / Newcastle on the weekends... :wink: )!!!
