Re: Whats your favourite lift? POLLHe drops his deadlift(Original post by SummerSofas)
i let it slam to the ground to let bro's know how much weight i'm lift. i think sometimes even the girls on the bikes on the other side of the gym hear the crash and come to watch!
Deadlifts make thow the beast of thy gym

Re: Whats your favourite lift? POLLits nice because it doesn't call for stability and core i guess, giving you a hard surface you can push up against from(Original post by LzLz)

Re: Whats your favourite lift? POLLReally? Do you know anyone who can do that? It sounds like maybe an Oly lifter thing where they don't have great shoulder strength compared to their leg drive and technique. I doubt strongmen would say this. As much as I would love to press 120+ by improving my technique it isn't happening(Original post by redbuthotter)
With good technique and mobility you should be able to PP 50% more than your OHP

Re: Whats your favourite lift? POLL
Military press>deadlift>bench=squat.
Some other favorites of mine are lateral/front raises and flys. This is when I'm not doing bodyweight exercises though. Nothing better than muscleups, HS pressups and triple clap pressups(front->back->front) -
Re: Whats your favourite lift? POLL
To be honest I inferred it from novice to pro level oly lifters on youtube - here's an example - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMIao...el_video_title
Think he stricts around 80kg.... so not far off.
I reckon if you have good stability overhead e.g. you can lockout properly then it shouldn't really be a problem. It's a very quick dip and drive like a jerk almost he only really has to lockout a few inches at the end.

Re: Whats your favourite lift? POLLMaybe.. but I think it might be more a function of most Oly lifters never really bothering to do enough strict presses to get any good at them.(Original post by redbuthotter)

Re: Whats your favourite lift? POLL
Thats a fair point, but I read somewhere that its easier to increase your PP with a bigger front squat than say trying to increase your strict press - for me anyway that's a uphill battle everytime lol
