Re: The worst food moments in life.
Oooh, when I forgot to take the lunchbox from my schoolbag at the beginning of summer vacations. Turned out I had left some of the bread, so when I opened it six weeks later I got the opportunity to explore a diverse biotope
I still insist I've seen a tiny tiger in there preparing to jump me ...

Re: The worst food moments in life.
Trying to put a sprinkle of salt on my mashed carrots and swede (don't judge me its good, though it may look like baby food), and the salt was a bit stuck together. So, after my futile attempts smacking it against the counter, I tried squeezing the plastic salt shaker.
Can ya guess what happened?
BOOM. Salt ALL over the place, in the carroty goodness, all over my plate, all over my cutlery. I attempted eating around, but daymmnnn that s*** got everywhere. -

Re: The worst food moments in life.
I had a pretty bad one a couple of weeks ago.
My housemate came home from a food shop, and started throwing a load of food away. I thought, okay maybe it's gone out of date, so that's fine...
But then, I take a sneaky look in the bing when she leaves the kitchen, and there's a spinach canelloni ready meal (out of date that day), two half loaves of bread (still fresh, no mould in sight) and a full pack of ham that wasn't anywhere near it's expiry date.
That made me so angry and sad. I hate to see food go to waste, and it wasn't like there was anything wrong with the food in the first place! And she'd just bought more food, to replaced perfectly good food...

Ham sandwiches and a ready meal for laters, hell yeah!

Re: The worst food moments in life.problem is OVER processed ham isn't really ham... its more of a sort of mush.(Original post by Sabertooth)

I don't agree with what the original post was about. Wasting food is bad, especially meat (even if its way to over processed)
Real ham > mock ham. -

Real ham > mock ham.
Free ham > real ham.

Re: The worst food moments in life.
I used to put pepper on a lot of food just because it was there. One day, I was eating a poached egg sandwich with ground peppercorns. Unbeknownst to me, not all the peppercorns had been fully ground up. I was happily savouring what was a good sandwich... Until I bit in to a whole peppercorn. Immediately what went through my head was 'I am in hell! This is the taste of death!'.
I couldn't finish that sandwich. I have never eaten pepper in any form since then and never plan to.Last edited by AtomSmasher; 23-05-2012 at 22:27. -
When you decide to treat yourself to a nice McDonald's milkshake and as you take the first slurp you realise that you've got half the flavour you ordered and half the flavour the person before you ordered resulting in some disgusting combinations.
