LONERS LATE AT NIGHT in Bournemouth Center BEWARE!!! Serious adviceOkay, here is a report that I submitted to the police. To add a bit more I am male, 18, 6ft high and a semi-professional kickboxer. Yet this whole affair somewhat frightens me. I can't imagine how a physically weak person would act in this case. DON'T WALK TO YOUR HOUSE ALONE AT NIGHT, unless you're confident in your powers. Always look around yourself.
Here's my report to the police:
I would like to make you aware that single individuals or (more likely) a group operates in Bournemouth Town Center Area. I've had two incidents, both in early Saturday morning (26 February and 5 of March 2011 at 1:30-2:00AM; 1st incident took place on Commercial Road, just by the Triangle; 2nd incident on Exeter Road, near V-Club). On both occasions I was walking home alone and a man (different each time) who at the beginning seemed an ordinary passer-by or talked on the phone, started following me. It was obvious, as I noticed him immediately, and changed directions several times as well as crossed the road. He kept distance, but followed me even if I went the opposite way. 1st time this continued for over 20 minutes and I had to call my friend to accompany me home. When my friend arrived we stayed to see what the man would do. He noticed the two of us and quickly caught taxi and left. The second time I approached a man (different one), who had also been following me for 10 minutes and asked him what he wanted. He asked me "are you new to this area?" I said no and said that I didn't want to see him follow me anymore. He quickly went away.
Both these men were rather inconspicuous. The 1st one was either Polish, or other Slav or Baltic nationality (when spoke on the phone it was also not English language) , wore a sport costume (white with blue) and constantly pretended to talk on the phone. Body type possibly athletic, hair-cut short, light-brown hair. Height: around 170 cm Age: 26-35 years. Not drunk, looked confident.
The 2nd man was also inconspicuous looking, but had darker complexion, possibly South-East European (Romanian or Hungarian?), had short black hair and a bit of facial hair as well. Wore usual light-brown warm jacket (sporty) and also wore glasses. Looked less confident and seemed harmless. Height: 160-170 cm. Age: 32-40 Body: average, maybe a bit overweight.
I would like to stress that neither of these men were drunk and as I am male, it is unlikely that they were trying to get acquainted with me. I am not sure what they do once they have followed their victim to their flat. In the best case they rob people, in the worst case they kidnap them.
I would suggest you put some plain-clothes officers into the area near the Triangle and Central park at night to try and prevent these men from committing any crime. This seems to go on organisation level.
Thanks for your attention.
JUDGE FOR YOURSELF, BUT BE PRUDENT.
I might reconsider lonely wanderings around the town after this. Hell knows how many people are involved in this. Maybe they will put you in the car and you can say goodbye to your life, when you become their drug-pumped slave. -

Re: LONERS LATE AT NIGHT in Bournemouth Center BEWARE!!! Serious adviceP.S. Also, I have not been to other areas of Bournemouth so late at night and it is possible that something similar happens in Boscombe, Charminster and elsewhere.

Re: LONERS LATE AT NIGHT in Bournemouth Center BEWARE!!! Serious advicewow..i'm moving to bournemouth in august and i'm extremely used to walking home at night at 2 even 3 am all alone confidently (because i live on a tiny island where barely anything happens!). Re: LONERS LATE AT NIGHT in Bournemouth Center BEWARE!!! Serious advice
I walk home from the Uni late at night almost every night, mostly cutting through Winton or the forest. It's pretty creepy and I often thought about being attacked or something, but there's almost always nobody around outside after 11-12. Did have an incredibly creepy encounter with screaming foxes surrounding me in the forest once. FFS, foxes, choose a nicer, less Lovecraftian sound to make next time, alright?
I hear someone got stabbed outside Winton, but I don't think I've ever hard to go down that area, and Winton seems to be a pretty quiet residential area. Recentl I've chosen to just go down Talbot Road as it's much better lit and there are more people, etc.
This is rather scaring me now as I was just preparing to leave and walk home, lol.Last edited by CalabiYau; 13-04-2011 at 23:11. -
Re: LONERS LATE AT NIGHT in Bournemouth Center BEWARE!!! Serious advice
thanks very much for sharing this! i'm going to AUCB in september, What concerns me is that they targeted you of all people, and you say you're very tall and a kickboxer. No idea what their plans are :-S
Unless....They're trying to get you to join a new Bournemouth fight club or something.
Wait...! did I just mention!...OHSH- -

Re: LONERS LATE AT NIGHT in Bournemouth Center BEWARE!!! Serious advice
I think the murder near Winton you're referring to was probably the one that happened pretty much right outside my house. It was a targeted attack, not random and apparently was the aftermath of a brawl that happened earlier in the night down in Charminster.
I have walked back from town to Moordown so many times this year, without incident. Admittedly most of those times I have been with a group of others, but a couple of times alone, scarily, one of those times was the night of that murder! As already mentioned.. every town has its crime and it's just about being sensible. Bournemouth is a pretty safe place in all honesty. -
