Thank you very much for your feedback Ayshizzle

But could you please elaborate why living there is bad....? I have no clue! Is the crime rate too high there? Are there no grocery shops around there?

Ermm there's lots of grocery shops, you won't have a problem with food. Yeah, crime rate's pretty high, the people aren't very nice, shopping is bad, and there's pretty much nothing to do really!

Sorry for the month late reply. No i'm a student in Leeds, but Bradford is my hometown. I lived there for 20 years, and never will again thank god.

As far as the uni goes, apparently pharmacy is it's best course, but it's defo better at other uni's. It's an awful place to live, I would know.

Well seeing as i've lived there for pretty much my entire life, and have seen most of it, I can safely say it's not a nice place to live. Especially the inner- city area where most students tend to live.

what is so bad about it ?

I guess it depends where you go, and what time u go out etc
like london has bad parts like brixton and peckam, where no person wuld wana go, becus of crime, drugs etc.. ive been there oncee to bradford and i have to say it seems a ordinary place, with people getting on with their business

At the end of the day, there is no city that is perfect. Nottingham is known to be called "shottingham" but I've been there and it feels like an ordinary city just like Bradford. Besides, it doesn't really matter if you go to a top uni like KCL or a lower one like Bradford, pharmacists will still be earning near to the same salary! Bradford has the 5 year program which is hugely advantageous for the world of work - no other unis offer this. I'm guessing compromise is needed cos we can't have a perfect city with a perfect course!

:hi: Mudya, another question(s), did your uncle end up getting a pre-reg placement? and did he choose the 5yr. program?

Re: How lenient are Bradford School of Pharmacy?
    hi everyone,

i've got an offer from bradford pharmacy for BBB grades. However, i am studying Biology and chemistry a-level and even though i already have an a-level in biology at a grade C which i did 5 years ago, i am doing biology a-level again this year. I need a B grade in it but i think i will get a C grade (or even a D as the a2 june exam is really eally hard) as i am currently on a grade C...
I'm wondering, say if worse cums to worse and i end up getting a D grade in biology. does anyone know which grade will be counted? Would be grade C be counted (even though it is 5 years old), or will the recent lower grade be counted?
Please can someone give me an honest answer, i'm too scared to ask the university myself incase they work against me as say well we need candidates with BBB. :bricks::bricks::diep::oops:

plz sum1 help me with this query...
    thanks
    :please:

I think as long as the Chemistry grade is ok, you should be fine.

(^^Bradford is said to have a good Pharmacy school, and at the end of it you're very likely to get a job from it

The city itself - good shopping, food and ice rink ) Good luck with getting the grades!

    Thanks.

"cool dude" i study at bradford university school of pharmacy.
it is an amazing course for pharmacy, and i am currently on the 5 year programme.
its the only place where you have the chance to get 6 months in hospital, and 6 months in community experience. i wasnt sure which sector i wanted to go into, by doing the 5 year course it has really helped me to decide on my future career.

the lecturers are really good, and always have time for you. its a small university in comparision to nottingham, but this gives you a chance to get to know everyone.

bradford does have its rough areas, but that can be said for all cities, it is a friendly place, and most people are nice. the student life is what you make it, you dont need amazing clubs to have an amazing student life. leeds/manchester are close which means there is a lot more you can do.

but in comparision to bigger cities, its a cheaper place to stay and you feel like there is more fresh air, just because there is so much more space and its not as rushed as places like manchester and london.

hope this helps, if you have any more questions about the course, feel free to ask
