So its about August when you find out where you're meant to be living for the next year?
Actually you get sent confirmation of halls in July, I am not sure when exactly it will be though, however I have heard of people getting it at the very start like 2nd July in last years thread.

James Watson is good because its right on Guildhall. Bateson and Maggie Rule are OK too ......... all of these halls come with a regular 4am wake up call from the fire alarm - just giving you a heads up! haha

I was in Langstone in my first year and i had food made for me and my own bathroom - the only thing missing was a living room!! - It's a bit further out the way but it is definitely a good crack as you get put together with 7 others. Night bus to the club, £5 taxi home. SORTED!

Yeah you do. Sometimes other students find ways to get in to the main door and set it off ... other times, its just drunk people coming back late who find it the most hilarious thing to do when drunk lol

It can be a laugh though, because by the second time you remember to put some clothes on to go outside and then just end up hanging around for half an hour with your mates!

does that mean we'll have to wait for the fire services to arrive every time the alarm goes off, or is it cleared by the management?

Also, regarding Trafalgar hall, do you know what side of the building room 3-3, floor 10 resides? (whether its north, south, east or west)

Yup, it usually takes around half an hour to clear it all up and get you back inside. It's much quicker when they realise it was someone messing around haha

No idea on where that room faces, are you sure its a good idea to put that online? haha I'll send you a postcard!

Trafalgar is right near the beach and the common which is student central in the summer so im sure it will be cool

How is trafalgar hall next to the beach? If you do manage to get the highest floor you will still have to deal with the construction site if you are facing south, not to mention many low-rise buildings obstructing the view of the beach/park, i'd assume you wouldn't get that good a view as it will probably be same as James Watson if you live on the higher floors. I suppose you'd get less noise from traffic passing by through the city if you live higher up.

Yeah there are a lot of buildings. The location is good, being near to pretty much everything (Gunwharf, beach, city centre, bars, common) - the views? mmmmm not so much - in ANY of the halls, other than the top of QEQM in Langstone and that still isnt that brilliant!
