MSc Environmental Policy @ LSE
Hi folks,
I come from an engineering background in sustainable energy systems. I got a 78% for my 1st semester (good top 15 UK Uni). Since I am not from a Social Science background what do you think my chances are when applying to LSE for an MSc in Environmental Policy ?
On the website it is specified (2:1 any degree, preferably social sciences). To be honest, I don't like the "preferably" because LSE is very popular and due to high volume of applicants I am afraid they actually take people exclusively from social sciences background.
What do you guys think about that ?
Cheers -
Re: MSc Environmental Policy @ LSE
The advice on the LSE website is literal; they may prefer social science students, but likely won't take people exclusively from that background. My advice is to e-mail the admissions department/relevant people from the department: describe your situation and ask for advice.
Get top grades, good references and have strong reasons for wanting to do the course and you'll stand a fair chance. -

Hi!
I have a BSc Biology and applied to the MSc Environment and Development which also said "preferably social sciences" and got in. I graduated first of my class though and have some work experience.
I say you go for it, like The_Libertarian says, write a great PS and get excellent references.
