No. But if it turns out that it is (unlikely, I think) then I'm not really bothered.
Listen to what we are all saying. However differant the words may seem there is a universal understanding of it. Point blank,we have no controll so just....love....hate and roll with it :-)
Well, I don't really know what I think. I do believe that some things happen for a reason, or maybe I just want to believe that. Like I want to believe that all the crappy things that happen in out lives are meant to happen so we can learn from them or what ever.

But I also want to believe that I am in control of everything that happens in my life, like I want to choose what job I get, and how many kids I have. But if our entire lives are already planned out, I don't think that would count as living.

What if my life is supposed to be terrible and I'm supposed to end up as a huge looser? I believe that I can choose if that really will happen to me or not, and that I could turn that around and become someone awesome.

The bottom line's that we make choices unconsciously, and then later trick ourselves into thinking we made that decision consciously. If this is true, which I believe it is, there's no such thing as free will. I don't think our lives are all mapped out, but I don't think we get to choose where we go either.

Prince Harry has it all mapped out. So did his father and grandfather.
To all of your opinions let's start from the Beginning people think they have already had there life's planned or they decide there fate, so let's look at a few facts. From the womb we never made that decision to be born your mother and father did, The CreatorsWe grew as a child : we was too young to make decisions your mother or carer made them for you. The universe doesn't put any challenges at you it's the judgement or actions of another human that can make happiness or sadness.Your day depends on other humans decisions unfortunately if it's the wrong one you suffer consequences and so on. Humans seem to create the life's challenges not the universe your actions also depend the life of another human. We are all creators on earth we all have a purpose to re-produce have family's and make things. education
Question is: is the future of humanity mapped out? It could well be, there seems to be a natural progression to it.

I was thinking earlier if our lives are actually led by fate or already planned out. This is because I've had so many coincidences in my life, and everything seems to link one way or another. For example one event in my life would lead to me meeting an opportunity which then leads me to another part of my life.

Also, both good and bad things seem to happen at the right time since they again seem to link together in some way, like one time in my life where I broke up with a girl which caused me to become emotionally numb, and because of that, I managed to survive the roughest patch in my life where bad things were constantly thrown at me and now things like that don't seem to bother me as much.

Its just a theory though :P, I was wondering on your opinions whether you think life is one massive map already planned out or if its something else, I'm interested to see your opinions .

It's not mapped out even if it feels like it is, the future is dependent on the events of the past however it's a multi variable chaotic model which means the present could go in an infinite number of directions.

No, even if it were I think actions we decide to make along the way change the course of nearly everything.
I reject determinism.

I also believe that comparatively little is conditioned by our genetics alone, and that empirical studies continue to show how important various stages of socialisation, upbringing, values and even diet can impact on us. I also firmly believe that people can and do change and that each of us is capable of tremendous amount of good and evil. I also agree with Brian Greene's and David Deutsch' interpretation of QM and the very fabric of our physical reality.
I myself know that life is planned out because if you read scriptures and you are spiritually enlightened God reveals truth. Lone Wolf in Michigan
I would love to jump on the bandwagon and say that life is not planned out and that you make your own destiny. However, in some sense, life is indeed planned out for you if you contemplate it long enough.

Think of every situation as having a wide plethora of choices. Pick a single one of those choices, and it opens up more and more possibilities and it goes on for infinity. There is quite literally an infinite number of paths that one could choose from. we will eventually choose one road to travel down (metaphorically) and from that choice we will make another, and another, and another, until we die.

That being said, you could argue that life is both planned and unplanned for us, as we will eventually plan it with the choices we make but will not know where those choices will take us.

I hope that I was of some assistance!

There was this one time I puked in the middle of a class in front of everyone.

I don't really see anyone carefully planning that.

That or someone wanted me to learn an important lesson: that you can only choose one: breakfast or dignity.
I went with the dignity thing. My gastric ulcer can confirm it.

Umm, or how about the times I had diarrhea? Or when I "miss the target" . Uuuu I know. When there's no toilet paper? Where is the big life lesson there?
sorry for the images.

If our lives were to be planned, who would be that planner? God? And to what purpose: teaching us lessons? And why teach us lessons when we're gonna die anyway. Why plan for billions of creatures? And why do that for an eternity?
Seems a little pointless...

I dont think life is about lessons, tho cus if every had to learn a lesson, what would babies who died , what leasson would they had to learn? They're dead.
I don’t think so - there may be elements of fate, but I don’t think it means every single action is predetermined.
