help with science homework?

hi! i have to explain the differences between a DIESEL and PETROL car. i have to write about the fuels they use and the their fuel consumption. I've looked everywhere and i cant find anything about fuel consumptions!
can someone help me out please?

This isnt very scientific but from general knowledge I think petrol cars are alot less fuel efficient than diesel cars. This probably has to do with their hydrocarbon structures or something but I'm not sure so gotta wait till someone better answers. :smile:
