Film Fanatics - Chat Thread II

Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

At least it isn't in 3D, don't think I would bother otherwise...

Speaking of good thriller films...Inside Man

Have just watched The Town. Very good film, I enjoyed watching it. How could I have missed out on it? Thanks for the advice, do you know any more nice thrillers?
I watched Frailty by the way and it appeared that I have seen it a while ago, good film too.

"One of those sunny days" - it was brilliant, yet so simple! Directed by Ben Affleck :O *bravo*
    Primal Fear
The Man from Nowhere (one of my favourites)
    Running Scared
    Spartan
    The Pledge
    A Perfect Getaway
    Identity
    Manhunter
    Dead Man's Shoes
    The Strangers
    I Saw the Devil

Given Rihanna's abysmal acting in Battleship, athletes should be the least of his problems.

at least he'll leave us with one truly great youtube compilation.

    hahaha nicholas cage

    mort de rire
'Not the bees'. He really goes all in, no matter how terrible the film is. Got to respect him for that.

The only thing that tops this is the compilation of Arnold Swarchenegger one liners (spelt that without Google, **** yeah).

I know it's not meant to be a comedy, but I found the trailer funny. It seemed as if they were trying to convince him that he had a fight or something? It's intriguing at the moment. Looks really interesting.

Just back from watching Red Lights. I really enjoyed it, sort of X-Files meets The Sixth Sense but with a plot twist that, although a 5/10 on the groan scale, doesn't attack the viewer about the head as violently as a typical Shyamalan affair.

I know she is sooooo hot in that film  Tis a shame that they only show her 'getting started' at the bar

Re: Film Fanatics - Chat Thread II
I watched Training Day last night - it was a bit... uneven. The first period was really fantastic; then it all got very silly and and a bit contrived; then there a part that's really intense and seems almost to make up for earlier; then it gets silly again, and then sillier yet, and ends on a bit of a forced note. I also didn't like the way or understand why they had to cram everything into a day. It could have worked fine if as a film of one day if there had been a bit less in it; it probably would have worked fine as a film of a longer period if they wanted to keep it all. :dontknow:

Also, The Amazing Spiderman is out soon, and looks like it might actually be a decent watch. Apparently, Andrew Garfield is very good in it. :beard:

And finally, has everyone heard about Raging Bull 2 coming up? :holmes:
