Yeah, there was a form I could have filled out and I did fill it out but since receiving offers from Bath and Durham I haven't really bothered to complete it and send it off.

Also, I moved abroad when I was 5 and was abroad for 11 years and the website suggested that they probably wouldn't see that as a temporary absence from the Uk/EU.
Ah right, I suppose you're insuring St Andrews and then firming Durham/Warwick? I had though St Andrews is better than Bath.

I think I'll be firming Durham and insurance will either be Bath or St Andrews. St Andrews I won't have to pay any fees (I'm Scottish) but accommodation is more expensive. However I have an unconditional there so... bath seemed to have better graduate job prospects than St. Andrews. And well they seem to have a better set up if you want to do a year abroad or if you want to do a year in industry. Also sport is amazing there, even though I'm not really competitive anymore - I am pretty sporty. Yet I love playing golf (have played since I was 5) and St Andrews is the home of golf and it be amazing to play on those courses. Too hard to decide!

Apparently if you actually attend St Andrews you get a MASSIVE discount, it's only like £500 to play there. One of the reasons I wanted to get in. But it was really far for me too so... xD

Yeah, cause you are considered a resident of St. Andrews. It's not too far from me. Only about and hour and a half away I think.

Other thing is that I applied for the BSc at St. Andrews and I know at Bath/Durham etc. switching between the BSc and MMath is pretty flexible but I don't know if that is the case at St. Andrews if I decide that I want to go down that route.

P.s. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get in. You still got accepted by 4 other amazing uni's though!

Hahaha, yeah true. I don't get home till about 10pm too. Ah well. I just hope I don't get lost trying to navigate Heathrow and Paddington but I've been a few times before so hopefully I'll be okay!
I think I get home at a similar time...quite looking forward to the day itself...but the travelling is going to be disgustingly drawn out :colonhash:
I feel for you travelling through London...I despise that place with a passion rarely rivalled through the dredges of time :P

Yep, I'll probably wander around Bath for a bit if I can remember how it's laid out from like 4 years ago. Should be good - have you visited before?

I'm the opposite, I wish I'd picked one of the harder universities, just to see whether I would have got in. I played it a bit safe.

Planes <3 Never been on a commercial aircraft, and never gone from one place to another on a plane, although I have controlled one and done loops, barrel rolls, stall turns, cuban 8s....
Wait wait wait...you've -controlled- a plane before despite never having been on a commercial one? Yeah; casual. Standard stuff really. Everyone goes flying now and again...

Why do people in general do so much more than I do :dontknow:?

Yeah, air cadets. I go shooting occasionally too, it's fun

Don't worry, people have done loads of stuff I haven't done before

Yeah, same. I didn't go in the actual department before (I don't think) so it will be good to see that. I have a family friend at Bath so she's gonna help show me around I think and meet me at the train station and stuff so . She's not studying maths though.

I really can't wait for the Durham open day in March. Haven't seen my college before so it will be cool to see it and stay in it and stuff!

Meh, I'm happy Warwick and Kings accepted me. But I would have liked St Andrews. It seems so secluded and dreamy, my kinda thing! KCL is for all purposes the exact opposite.

Yeah, it is lovely. Actually applied to go to boarding school there but never went because my family ended up moving back to the Uk. People always say to me that 'Oh there's nothing to do there unlike Edinburgh/Glasgow, you'll be sooo bored' but there is and tbh I don't think I really need all the distractions of city life! London would have been way to big for me, as much as I love the city I'm not sure if I would want to live there.

I'm going to Bath next Wednesday, I guess you are going too?

I have to get up at 5 (or even before that) to catch my flight (to London). Then I have to get the train from London to Bath. I live in the North of Scotland
I am I've not recieved a programme though, so have no idea where to go or what time to arrive! Would one of you possibly be able to upload the programme pretty please ?

Ah right, you must have so many friends! :p: Yeah, I think I could handle KCL because of the great course and the career prospects it brings. I'm still mulling over Nottingham but I think it's out the window now tbh.

Quite a few I guess all over the world but only a few close friends where I live now. I think the only uni in London I seriously considered applying to was LSE but then they stopped doing a pure maths course there so I didn't apply. Also I heard that the maths department wasn't too fantastic compared to other unis... did think about Imperial but the large male:female ratio put me off a little bit and I got the impression that it was a real competitive environment, and I am a competitive person but I wouldn't want to be like that all the time or feel like I have to.

Spend 11 hours on the train and two and a half hours at the actual University in Bath...clearly valid :ahee:

But the Uni and town were lovely; and I was impressed by the actual day itself...may well be my insurance =P

    Imperial

More seriously, who are you choosing between? (Also, not to make you complacent, but how likely is it that you'll miss your firm offer?)

    My offers are:
    Cam (Christ's) A*AA 11
    Imp A*A*AA
    UCL A*AA
    Warwick A*A*A+2/A*AA+1
    King's AAA

My firm is gonna be cam. I've no idea how likely it is that I will miss the offer but, going by statistics, quite likely.

how confident are you getting a 1 in STEP? or getting the 2 A*? I would pick between Warwick and Imperial
