Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark IBecome a re-re-applicant?(Original post by Doctor.)
Considering: Buy 10 for £43.23 each
Too bad I didn't get into Medicine, guess I will just roam the streets as a beggar with a stethoscope looking all medically
I could see the alternative..

Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark IPlan amazing things to do in the summer! Persuade some of your friends to go on holiday with you or something(Original post by amreek77)
hi guys, im a successful reapplicant- and just wanted to know what your plans are for the rest of the year. I have nothing to do- i just work part time 2 days a week and volunteer once or twice a week- im getting a bit bored
I'm still just working, but a lot of my friends are coming home from uni soon, so I'll be able to spend my free time with them. I've booked tickets to Leeds festival, and I'm doing volunteering for a week before that. Perhaps going away with friends for a weekend or something, and hopefully a holiday with my boyfriend. Just think, this is the only time you're going to be really free for pretty much the rest of your life - what things do you want to do? Go and do them! -
Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark II gotta work full time to fund my second degree(Original post by amreek77)

Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark I
yh thanks guys for the advice. i luckily got in this year- i accidentally applied to 2 places where i didnt meet their a level requirements. oops! ill just de-stress i think and maybe do more shifts at work. i just purchased the grays anatomy for students so im gunna start going through that- just to make the first year a bit easier.

Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark IIt is unlikely to make your first year easier. University anatomy teaching is extremely well structured, learning random facts beforehand is unlikely to help and may only succeed in confusing you.(Original post by amreek77)

Enjoy your summer before uni, you will have enough work during term time

Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark I
Hey guys, can't believe what I'm about to say but as of today I am officially, a successful medicine re-applicant.
This thread was really nice to read because I felt like I wasn't alone through the struggles. Good luck to the rest of you guys still waiting and those unsuccessful. If it's really what you want and you believe the struggle is worth it then keep on fighting.

Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark I
Hi,
i applied for clinical science but i didnt get in i really want to do medicine so i dont know what to do.
anyway i was thinking of doing biomed to transfer over to medicine this is literally my last chance i cannot ressit as my college does not allow me to do science al levels
anyway i went through bradford biomedical science and they have extra places available should i apply for it? or will they decline me as they did for clinical science? and also will i have to change my medicine personal statment to biomedical ?
Any advice is appreciated! -
Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark Ii think you should phone Bradford and ask whether your rejection for Clinical Sciences will have any influence on your application for Biomed (I don't think it will tbh but ask to make sure).(Original post by loves islam)

usually, you have to write a new personal statement for Biomedicine but i'm not sure if at this stage they would ask for one, so again, call them up.
hope this helps and good luck. -
Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark I
i can't find an official thread for student finance so i was wondering if anyone on here could help me out ...
i've been reading some documents about it and from what i gather, when you take out a student loan, at the end of uni, there is no exact amount that you have to pay back? say you took out a total loan of 45k, even if at some point you're able to pay all of that off, you can't? you have to pay every year for 30 years (if you earn more than 21k p/a)? - have i got that right?
please help if you can! -
Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark IYou pay 9% of whatever you earn over £21,000 towards it. As far as I'm aware if you want to pay it off soon after in a lump sum you are more than allowed, why would they stop you? Don't think that would be allowed.(Original post by Dr.Galaxy99)

Re: 2012 Medicine Re-Applicants Mark I
Does anyone know if student finance take into account siblings at uni? Me and my brother are both starting in September on the minimum loan so parents are expected to contribute a fair bit cause of the two of us. And in two years time my there will be three of us all at uni so it'll only get worse. I've heard rumours that they do but I'm not sure, does anyone here know?

. Hopefully fit in a cheap holiday too though!
