Re: Which religion would you get rid of?Yes which is why more people than ever are turning to an inherently bad religion? Errrrrm No(Original post by Elipsis)
Apart from the fact that blacks aren't inherently bad, and Islam is. And that getting rid of an ideology is different to getting rid of the people themselves. No one said get rid of Arabs did they?

Re: Which religion would you get rid of?Islam is inherently bad? That's quite a strong statement. Care to elaborate?(Original post by Elipsis)

Re: Which religion would you get rid of?Aah, i see so it's a matter of which religion killed more people, not the fact that people from all religions have commited terrorist attacks. Not to mention the IRA was state sponsered.(Original post by Elipsis)
To put the previous generations of terrorism into perspective for you, on 9/11 Muslim terrorists killed more people than the entire IRA bombing campaign (which was itself only loosely related to Christianity, and was more political in nature). -
Re: Which religion would you get rid of?My thoughts are that there's no need for you to be ignorant, sunshine.(Original post by justinsmith)
Ok, so here's my question. If someone came up to you and told you that he could get rid of any religion in the world, simply make it disappear from the minds of all its followers, which one would you choose?
Personally, I'd go with Islam, since a religion that makes hot chicks cover themselves up 24/7 is just wrong.
Anyway what are your thoughts?
Anyway, if someone did come up to me to ask me that, I'm thinking that for some reason, I might not believe them. -
Re: Which religion would you get rid of?No, there are not. Extremist doesn't murderer.(Original post by Elipsis)
The Westborough baptist church never killed anyone. If the Westborough baptist church is your definition of 'extremist' Christians, then there are about 950 million extremist Muslims in the world. -
Re: Which religion would you get rid of?
I would actually say Chrisitanity based on the religions poor treatment to women. On the face though, many chrisitans are really just athiests and dont take their book too seriously based on some of the harsh content in it. Which is why many women are turning away from Chrisitanity in the West.

Re: Which religion would you get rid of?Appearences are usually decieving. Ever wonder why people are pushed into terrorism? No? It's because they have No other option, in Palestine, people mothers, father, brothers, sisters have all been killed by Israeli's. But their not terrorists... are they? They kill civilians with guns and planes and artillery. There is a big difference when a Palestinian blows themself up along with a shopping mall. Because it is an uncivilized way to kill a civilized civilization.(Original post by miss_p)
I did say all of them should be gotten rid of. All religions have contraditions and speak a lot of bull**** that people like to believe because it gives them hope and peace of mind. Religion is the cause of SO much conflict in the world, but out of all the religions, it just appears that Islam causes the most conflict.
Also it seems most people are the victims of media propaganda. You don't really see both sides when it commes to the middle east, just that Muslims are all terrorists who should be killed. Yet 1 Million Iraqi civilians payed with their lives. Yet the western world isn't seen as terrorists. -

Even if they don't take the book to seriously, as long as they believe in God they aren't atheist at all. -

No, they aren't atheist. And I don't know why you singled out women like women are leaving Christianity on a large scale. On the face though, many chrisitans are really just athiests and dont take their book too seriously based on some of the harsh content in it. Which is why many women are turning away from Chrisitanity in the West. -
Re: Which religion would you get rid of?
How about:
We all believe what we want to believe, and don't impose our beliefs on others. Let our children decide what they follow, and respect that everybody is different, and nobody is ever going to agree on anything.
I wish that I could bake a cake made out of rainbows, and smiles and we'd all eat it and be happy...Last edited by Racheld25; 20-03-2011 at 18:47. -
Re: Which religion would you get rid of?From what I have heard and seen when so called 'Christians' dont take their book serious their children often denounce their faith altogether. Over time it gets taken less and less serious.(Original post by Aku-gila)

Re: Which religion would you get rid of?I agree. This whole thread really is pointless.(Original post by Racheld25)

Re: Which religion would you get rid of?I really don't understand how that is relevant.(Original post by imzir)

Out of interest, are you religious?
