    Corronation Street: Whats happened?
I watched 'corrie' for the first time in ages on monday, and couldent beleive how bad it was.

ok so corrie always has been more comedy than drama (in comparison to eastenders) but mondays was beyond beleif.

also the plots seemed to be very contrived and outdated, i mean is anyone still surpised when young people become vegitarians?

it might get a comment or two, thats all, nothing like what Craigs grandad was saying...it felt like they were stuck in 1972 or something.

Eastenders seems so far ahead at the moment, which is funny considering only a couple of years ago itself was down in the dumps.

Eastenders is pure sh*te. How can you expect to understand a soap by watching one episode, when you haven't seen it for "ages" as you said. Last year Coronation Street caned Eastenders in every department - better storylines, better characters, etc. and still Eastenders won the Soap Awards. However, Eastenders is only worth watching for Stacey and Ruby.

you have to agree that mondays corrie was poor though, an no way did it warrant 3 episodes! that was just to give Im a celebrity good viewing figures...

it was barely worth 2 episodes, and yes i havent watched religiously in ages..but ive seen the odd episode..and plots like status quo arriving have just been ridiculous.

Coronation Street & Eastenders both kick ass, i'll hear none of the negative comments about them!

EastEnders has improved recently, but in terms of quality there's still a lack of consistency. The plot which brought Phil and Grant back was just a shameless ratings booster, and there are still plenty of plot holes in some storylines. There's a huge cast clearout coming up as well, which is a bit desperate.

You're right about Stacey and Ruby though, both of them are pretty cute.

Yep Monday's wasnt particularly good, but I just wouldn't base your judgment on that.
