It then got turned into Basquash!, Nichijou TV and Haibane Renmei

Before finally becoming Tsukikage Ran, Shin Sekai Yori and Basquash!.

Thanks all for playing along, I hope you all got to watch at least one of your choices! Thanks Mr jellyfish elf as well. I'm glad all that typing is done for one year now. Hopefully we'll have another one in 2015/16!

Finally, I can start chasing Parz1val for feedback. Feedback besides 'I've seen those two already!', that is. :p:

As for the identities of your Secret Santas, I asked for series from Caraniel and Parz1val - both suggested Durarara!!, so I asked them for another; Cara gave you Honey & Clover, and Parz1val gave you Katanagatari.
apple cakes
:santa2:

Many thanks for the three great Secret Santa series you gave me! Hope my reviews were satisfactory.

Log Horizon is on Crunchyroll & I really enjoyed it. It's set in an MMORPG but is really smart & entertaining and uses the dynamics of video games really well.

I think I have heard about that one, I will have to give it a look.

Crunchyroll has Kaiji, a gambling show which you might well enjoy if you liked the game aspect of NGNL. It comes in two seasons around 26 episodes each (the first season is the one CR lists as 'Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor'), so there's plenty of it to enjoy if you do like it. It's very tense and has a deliberate and unusual stylised set of character designs. There's no fanservice and not tonnes of gore though there are occasional moments of violence.

Sounds pretty cool. Gore wise that's fine to watch in work. My work place is a bit more relaxed with things we watch or play during work. Basically as long as it can't be mistaken for porn or something then it's fine

There's been no news of a No Game No Life anime sequel that I'm aware of, though I have heard that the first series covered pretty much all of the material from the original light novels so far. So while it's virtually guaranteed to get a continuation due to its popularity, it might not be for a while, until the novels are far enough ahead.

The sequel for Knights of Sidonia airs next season (starting in April) though, in case you weren't already aware.

Just had a look through everything that's on Crunchyroll for the UK, and I'd recommend any of the following:

Hunter x Hunter
Hitsugi no Chaika
Hoozuki no Reitetsu
Space Brothers
Gatchaman Crowds
Durarara!!
Zetsuen no Tempest
Chihayafuru
Natsuyuki Rendezvous
Tsuritama

I have actually been watching Hunter x Hunter though I kind of stopped after the end of the Ant King arc. I kind of marathoned it while I was off ill. This though didn't go so well as staring at a screen all day cooked my head a bit haha. So I haven't gone back to it for a bit. I want to but I keep getting distracted by other things. But if it's on crucnhy think I will give it another look  I originally watched it on netflix but they didn't have the last few seasons on there.

I have been meaning to watch Durarara for ages now I am def giving that a look.

Lastly random but I saw someone mention Red Line in a post above. God I love that film, it's so damn pretty.

I intended to, that's why I only asked two helpers, I thought I'd be suggesting the third. But when they both put forward Durarara!! (which is amazing), and their other two choices were very good as well, I felt I wouldn't be able to do any better.

Oh you'll be fine with Kaiji then, as far as fanservice goes it's one of the cleanest titles out there -- not because it's prudish, but because it's 100% Tense Games of Death and/or Serious Injury.

And yeah, Redline is great stuff. I try to watch it at least once every year.
Anyone watching Kiseijuu? Best anime of 2014 for me .

Yeah! I'm liking it quite a bit so far but I hate the waiting; the last episode didn't have enough happen - it felt like it was over in minutes.

True, hopefully it gets better.
Is Bleach manga still going on? I know they cancelled the show but I heard the manga was still going on.

I believe the manga is still going on, I'm not too sure though since I've never been a follower of the never ending shonen stuff

I'm tempted to watch a few episodes again because it unravels so well

Still going on and imo, on its best arc,
I just watched Baccano and, boy, was that entertaining. Actually, at first I didn't think it was and I had no clue what was going on. But then, as I watched more and more, I started to understand various bits and yeah, it was just great. I rewatched episode 1 after episode 13 and it was like watching a whole new episode. I wonder how many more I could rewatch and feel like that with? Some really great writing there. Though, I also feel like there's lots I don't understand have tonnes of questions!

I was wondering if anyone has watched the specials? I have read mixed things about them and wondered whether I should watch them or not.

I also felt quite lost at the beginning but damn are you right about how good it gets.

I haven't watched the specials but I might rewatch the original and watch the special afterwards - there's quite a lot - three 30 minutes episodes but apparently a lot of the characters play very minor roles, even so I'd say go ahead since there's not much to lose.

I recently rewatched it, and yeah, it's still one of my all-time favourite series. I remember feeling the same way about the early episodes when I first watched it, but sticking with it certainly paid off!

As for the specials, I thought they were quite good... though, I also felt the TV series ended so well that a continuation was unnecessary. Very conflicted.
Think I'll finally start watching the Kuroko's Basketball anime. The manga finished a while ago so I can't see Viz releasing it. (I will still keep my fingers crossed for Haikyuu! though even if it is near impossible they'll actually release it)
Now I know why the dance scenes in Tribe Cool Crew look so good! :zomg:

Finally passed the 100 episode mark in Candy Candy - only took me two years of constantly stopping and restarting it to get this far. :p: I only have 13 eps to go now, so chances are I'll actually finish it this week. :zomg:

Haha, this looks amazing. Any good? I ignored the anime as it seemed intended for children, but this video is making me intrigued. :giggle:
