I don't have a CD in my stereo but I have a CD player in my transport ont he CD player. (sorry for being a pedantic sod).(Original post by MattG)
ok heres the deal, got a CD in your stereo at the moment, well review it!
out of 5, can include . (eg 4.8)
tell us a bit about it, fav tracks etc.
Anyway its Simon and Garfunkel - Old freinds
5/5 - It contains all 60 of their studio recordings including a couple of live tracks. If you like Simon and Garfunkel then this is the CD to have, the modern greatest CD is not as good.
The recording quality is also have good with none of the digital harshness found on some CDs.
I find Simon and Garfunkel can touch my moods in a way that few acts can (Joy Division an exeception). -
Heaven & Hell - Black Sabbath : 4.9
One of the best albums made by this Birmingham band, the greatest vocalist Ronnie James Dio (ex-Rainbow) replaced Ozzy Osbourne and showed everyone with two ears that he's so much better.
Including classics like Heaven and Hell, Neon Knights, Children of the Sea and my favorite Die Young. -
Billy Joel - Greatest Hits
What can I say? I love Billy Joel's stuff, it has all the classics.
Piano Man
We Didn't Start The Fire
Allentown
Uptown Girl
Longest Time
Always a Woman
Pressure
Those are the ones that come to mind because I can't find the case. I'd rate it as 4.6. It is only a greatest hits after all, and not worthy of the perfection that should be allocated to a truly great album such as SilverChair's Frogstomp
-
I have three, Franz ferdinads new album, this is great and shows how good new music still can be, my fav tracks are: dark of the matinee, this fire and jaqulene. 5/5 this tack has sum amazingly catchy bits.
I also have Jets new album, this was previously my favoutrite album until i hard franz ferdinand, my fav track is are you gonna be my girl. but some tracks on this album arnt all that good. 3/5
also Carmina burana, this is an amazing work once you get past the first movement that everyone knows, some of the movents in the tavern are truly amazing 5/5 -
In the car, where I've spent over 90 minutes today, Jack Johnson's On & On and Elbow's Cast of Thousands. In the pc, Damien Rice's O.
The Jack Johnson album is pretty mellow stuff, good to sing along to. And Elbow do misery & doom so well. :-)
Can't beat Damien Rice though, my favourite buy of last year, especially The Blower's Daughter.
I give 4 to Jack Johnsonl, 4½ to Elbow and 5 to Damien Rice. -
Black Keys - debut album THE BIG COME UP
4.5 out of 5, not as good as the follow-up Thickfreakness..
If you like you rock, raw, bluesy and damn good this is a great buy!
Fav Tracks: run me down, heavy soul, them eyes
One of the best recent bands ever.. wipes the floor with the White Stripes!
p.s the Damien Rice album is fantastic, Amie my fav -
Hey,
Great idea. It can help me decide whether to buy a CD or not!
Anywayz at the moment I have a playlist from my computer on so it's a random shuffle of 20 hours of music so I'll give you some of my random favourite tracks, five to be exact!
Hilary Duff - So Yesterday, good debut single from her, okay album, good music but her voice is very Britney Spears, you're average teenager new music talent. 4/5
LaLaine - Save Myself. Amazing girl, amazing voice, amazing song. Her whole album is so powerful, she wrote nearly all the songs herself making them very personal and effective. 5/5
Good Charlotte - Hold On. From Young and the Hopeless album. Written after fans who wrote in saying they wanted to end their lives. Sad but really good. 4/5
Simple Plan - Addicted, I'm very biased as they are my favourite band. But this song and they're album is totally worth the £9.99 or however much it is these days!! It is amazing! I must stop saying amazing!
Last but definetly not least! 6/5
Jamie Cullum - What a Difference a Day Makes. Jazz singer, amazing voice. Brilliant song, brilliant album. 5/5
Soz this wasn't a CD review but I did give my opinion of the albums of the songs I reviewd! If that made any sense at all!
Well hope this helped anyone considering buying any of these albums!
Rock 'n' Roll!
**bekks** -
i just bought the album from Alistair griffin (dude who didnt win fame academy)
its actually v good. if anyone's heard his single, some of the songs are like it but some v different but still good.
i think its kinda a mixture of darius, slightly westlifey but less cheese, and a hint of ronan keating. -
Thrice - The Artist in the Ambulence
4/5
another brilliant album. not the same hardcore sound as their older stuff but theres still quite a bit of it still there and its really easy to get into.
Teppei brings his lead style in big time on most tracks.
good tracks - "paper tigers" for hardcore sound, "stare at the sun" for pure brilliance and "the artist in the ambulance" for loads of Teppei's lead bits
