What textbooks to buy?!

I'm starting as a private candidate, because I left school. I've decided on doing:
English Lang & Lit
Maths
French
Business Studies OR Art Applied
I don't know where to buy textbooks! Could someone please tell me what they have? Which are helpful? I realise they'll be expensive, since schools usually supply them, but I'm ready to do that.
Any advice is much appreciated!
