Re: BSMS Medicine Applicants 2012In recent years everyone who's been on post interview got an offer in the end. But this year they've had so many more applicants it's hard to tell. What was your UKCAT by the way?(Original post by Ruby10)

I would apply in case you miss the conditions of your Firm offer. But you don't have to do it today! You have until the 8th of August!
yep conditional offer is it first come first served in accommodation or like a lottery?

Re: BSMS Medicine Applicants 2012hey there, no i already have an offer but i have put bsms as my insurance choice and received an email telling me to apply for accommodation so i was wondering if it's first come first served in accommodation and whether i do need to apply for it as it's my insurance choice if you see what i mean

Yeah I believe it is first come first served basis - unless you have special circumstances i.e disabilities in that case you get priority. But bare in mind that medicine offers are given before other offers (generally) so we get a few more days to have a look at the halls and apply; also BSMS students are GUARANTEED a place at the halls (might not be your first choice though).(Original post by DSal)

I'm not 100% how it will work for you, but I'm assuming you should apply and then if you meet the conditions of your Firm offer you just call BSMS accommodation and cancel your accommodation contract. If I were you I would drop them and email, just to be sure.

I hope they give us our replies by tomorrow, if what people are saying and that it is ranked only by UKCAT then it shouldn't take long after their meeting.
hopefully really soon though! Also the UKCAT thing, i'm not sure if that's true cause when i called admission they said it was other stuff aswell that is considered so i don't think its a numerically ordered on UKCAT only.
