I'm hoping we can have a decent discussion here,

but i was just wondering why Jews and Blacks have faced the most discrimination, genocide and dehumanisation than any other races, since ancient history right up to the 20th century?

hundreds and thousands of white people were sold as slaves and you single out black people?


it isn't a competition you know! every group in existence has suffered extreme persecution at one point in time.

I think the Jews' harsh treatment has something to do with religion - they 'killed jesus'. Also they are viewed by some as being a kind of pest, since they have no real home or origin, so places with a high Jewish population see the jews as a sort of occupying presence.

The persecution of black people was just greed I think. They were easily manipulated and imprisoned because they didn't speak the lingo and had inferior weapons.

Anti-Semitism is because a lot of people dislike Jews because:
a) The Romans kicked Jews out of their homeland - Israel - so they had to go find other places to live, and find new homelands, and I guess people native to wherever they moved to didn't like this.
b) A lot of Christians view Jews as 'Christ-killers' because some Jewish people killed Jesus or something. Even though Jesus was Jewish... so this is a bit silly really.
c) The Jewish man stereotype is really unpleasant, a lot of people are guilty of disliking them just because of this stereotype.. despite it probably not even being true for many of them.

I'd imagine had black tribes from Africa developed faster than white Europeans they would likely have sold whites into slavery. Just a case of we got there first.

It strikes me that some Anti Semitism can be explained by jealousy - that Jews were/are perceived as being good at making money/successful. This goes back to medieval times.

Also, bizarre conspiracy theories about Jews taking over the world seem to have existed throughout history.

And, it's easier to blame a minority for your country's problems? That the Jews didn't have a homeland as such?

Another factor that plays in with anti-semitism would be that there were a widespread minority who were resistant to assimilation. Other minority groups would arrive for whatever reason in a country, and a couple of generations later it wouldn't make any difference that someone's grandparents were Huguenot's (or whatever); they'd be just the same as everyone else. The Jews maintained a distinct sub-culture, and hence self-excluded themselves from the mainstream slightly. (Similar story with the Roma, albeit with some distinct factors in each case). However, this is probably a smaller factor than the simple matter of being able to combine racist bigotry with religious bigotry.

I guess anti semitism has been widespread due to the myth/idea (I'm not entirely clear on this one, but I believe in the end the Romans killed Jesus, not the Jews) that the Jews killed Jesus, which has been commonly believed for thousands of years.
