    Evidence for parent's divorce?
My parents are divorced, on the evidence page it asks me to send them my parent's decree absolute.

What I can't work out for certain though, is whether I need to send an original or a copy?

The directgov pages just list under original documents needed as birth certificates or marriage certificates, so does a decree absolute count under a marriage certificate? Because it doesn't really count as a financial document, right? So I'm assuming they want an original but I don't want to send in an original only to find that a photocopy would suffice.

Just wondering if anyone's been through this before and whether they can reassure me!

It actually says to only send in photocopies because they don't return them

Photocopies only, they'll get rid of the originals

Send them a photocopy of their Decree Absolute. I had to do that when I applied and had no problems with them

Do send it recorded delivery and have a second photocopy just in case they balls something up and you have to send it again!
