Redox question

Hi,
I’m kinda stuck on this redox reaction question-

I have to combine two half equations into one reaction [that of MnO4(-) being reduced & the oxidation of V(3+)]

So its goes on like this;
MnO4(-) + 8H(+) + 5e(-) >>> Mn(2+) + 4H2O (reduction)
V3(+) + H2O >>> VO(2+) + 2H(+) + e(-) (oxd)

I combined the two to get:
MnO4(-) + 5V(3+) + H2O >>> 5VO(2+) + Mn(2+)+ 2H(+)

Is this correct?
most certainly is :smile:

Unparseable latex formula:

\textrm{MnO}_{4}^{-}+5\textrm{V}^{3+}+\textrm{H}_{2}\textrm{O}\righta5\textrm{VO}^{2+}+\textrm{Mn}^{2+}+2\textrm{H}^{+}

Just testing my LaTeX generator :smile:

Best,
Borek
