A Kestrel for a Knave. It was literally the death of a young delinquent's saving grace, at the hands of his delinquent brother's jealousy.

I was like "WHOOO!" when Bob died. Though I did feel sorry for him. Anyhoo, Ikemefuna in Things Fall Apart. Both Arthur Jarvis and Absalom Kumalo in Cry, the Beloved Country. Helen Burns in Jane Eyre. Anthills of the Savannah. Oh, and I read The Diary of Anne Frank when I was really young, not knowing that she died at the end of it all (not a bright child) - I was distraught for days!

I HAVE NEVER MET ANYONE WHO HAS READ THIS BOOK! (Aside from my English class )

But  ... oh Okonkwo, you hubris-driven man too afraid of failure...

Robin in Tomorrow When the War Began. Corrie and Chris I just felt sad, Robin I cried buckets

And Harry Potter, of course. Dobby, Fred, Dumbledore......
All the Harry Potter characters' deaths made me cry hard, same with Romeo and Juliet.
