Atheist countries are colder
coincidence? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_atheism
as you can see south america, the middle east and southern europe are mostly highly religious, whereas sweden, estonia, norway and other northern european countries are mostly irreligious. I believe Russia has alot of atheists too. Africa on the other hand and India are once again highly religious. Canada has more atheists than the United States. Anyone wonder why this is? -
Re: Atheist countries are colderNo I don't believe in god or religion it was just an observation. Alot of these colder countries have higher HDI and quality of living as well. Italy, Greece, Cyprus and a few other countries seem to be the exception as they have a high quality of living yet alot of religious people(Original post by James_B123)
If this is a serious post on the proof of religion/God, it's literally the worst one I've ever heard, read or seen. -

the cold climate caused those with crappy brains to die out in the ice age and the ones with good brains survived hence us cold country people are smarter and turn to atheism

Reading some peoples' religious views make it very hard to see which is which... -

Most likely due to some intermediating factor such as development. Drier, hot countries tend to be those which are less developed. Less developed countries tend to be more religious for whatever cultural reasons.
If you don't realise there's going to be a connection between quality of life and wanting to believe in a higher power who will make it all better, then you're missing one of the quintessential human natures.
Although, this does mean that the boys working down in the Antarctica research stations are the biggest bunch of god hating heathens ever. I wonder if anybody has told them. -
Re: Atheist countries are colderAre you trying to say that God 'rewards' followers with warm weather?(Original post by Hardballer)
