Ooohhh. Of course it would be American football! The name wasn't quite rugby, haha.
That is pretty awesome though. O:

&& my accommodation form is near enough finished, i just need to get a passport sized photo. Ugh. I only have ones left over from my drivers liscence photos, and they are AWFUL. I'm thinking i may aswell get some nice (er/ish) ones, as they'll probably be handy once i get to uni (wherever it may be) anyway! Alternatively i could just see if i could print one out from a picture on my computer...That might be cheaper. S:

And revision is...well. I really should have done some this holiday, but i've been cramming to try and get this stupid YASS thing done (it's basically an open university module), as the deadline is Thursday. S:

    How about you guys?

I can't wait to start training with them

I haven't done any revision in this two-week break as I have been spending as much time as possible improving my ICT coursework before it gets sent off to be marked by the moderators.

I love coursework, takes so much pressure off in exams!

That's quite a relief i'm not the only one though!

I was reminded about a substantial essay I had previously forgot about (due to coursework) which is due in tomorrow, so I have had to spend today doing that, instead of coursework - which is a shame because one of my units has to be improved quite a lot, and the deadline is wednesday

Hey, Just started my application but it says the application wont go any furter until acceptance of an unconditonal offer of a course place at the uni has been received ...

Ive put the uni as a firm choice.. I have a conditonal offer does this make any difference?

You mean that it says that on the application for itself for accommodation?
Basically, the university works on the basis of giving out accommodation offers to people already with unconditional places first, then after results day, providing you get the grades, your offer will then change to unconditional and they will give you an offer after that.
    Does that make sense? D:

Hey guys!! I'm an exchange student from Ontario, Canada and I'll be attending UH in September. I have a few questions about the social-ness (for lack of a better word) of the accommodation at Herts lol. I know Telford really seems to have the partying reputation, but what about Fern, Butler, or Chapman Halls?

I want to know about these three halls because I'm thinking of applying for them. I want to live in a place where it would be easy to make friends (since I'm a very social person), but at the same time, I do need quiet days to concentrate on school. What do you think?

    Merci *.*

Not really, the majority of offers are conditional, just make sure you get your application in a.s.a.p. so that when our results come out, we should hopefully be priority. c:

From my knowledge (of intense research on here, haha), Fern and Butler are near enough the same, not entirely sure about Chapman.
But halls i think are the way to go, as you can socialise easily (particularly in Fern and Butler due to a TV room, and the number of people located per kitchen, which is around 10 - 12 people), but if you look at pictures, they are literally halls where your room is, so i think it will (hopefully) be easy enough to get away from everything if you need.
The problem is, wherever you go it's kind of a luck of the draw as to who you end up with and whether or not they're the "party" type of people, i.e. throwing parties all the time.
From what i've heard though, except Chapman, purely because i haven't seen past posts with people talking about Chapman, Butler and Fern tend to be pretty sociable.

It might be worth just seraching the forum for the names of those halls, and see if you can find anything that people have said about them that might help. c:

No, you will be able to apply when Herts is your firm or once you have accepted and met your offer If you eventually decide to go to Herts they will send out an accommodation pack to you.

This is a hard one, I mean it really is just by chance/luck that you will be put into a quiet flat/party flat because no one knows what people they are going to be with.

I don't know if DoktaUH would be able to answer this but I'm really not sure what to tell you

What I do know is that there is special accommodation for people who don't like the party scene to much and want it quiet but I think it's mostly mature/older students who apply for that but I might be completely wrong! Perhaps it is an idea to ring the accommodation office about this.

    All the best!

Not Telford, they're party animals. Probably Coales or Broad for your social requirements, the rooms are pretty tiny though. Can't go wrong with Butler or Fern
