Re: Hertfordshire accomodationI'm a first year student and have been living at Telford Court.... everyone who i know from De Hav have said they wished they lived on the College Lane campus especially for returning from the Forum in the evenings. Telford is really good and has a good vibe to it too and the atmosphere at College Lane is defiantly more chill and party mode(Original post by sandhu06)
Help!
I really want to live on De Havilland but is the extra money really worth it?? Plus what is better telford court or roberts way? -
Re: Hertfordshire accomodationTelford is a great place but I can't say that I found Telford "definitely more chill and party mode". Obviously not saying telford doesnt have anything going on either. All the people I know at de hav had a great time and wouldn't have chosen otherwise as far as I know. Pretty much everyday there was a party to go to really.(Original post by auriane6)

Different experiences I guess ^^ -
Re: Hertfordshire accomodationHaha you got a very good point there I must say lol - don't trust the bus timetables at night lol Nd walking back from the forum when it's cold at night isn't always fun :/(Original post by auriane6)
Pop_tart, yep different experiences
Telford is not the place to be if you want peace all the time though haha. But college lane defiantly has the advantage of being a lot nearer to the forum than de hav, especially as the shuttle gets a but unreliable in the evening

Re: Hertfordshire accomodation
I wonder if anyone would be able to help me choose accommodation? Just looking for some advice :P
I definitely want to stay on the College Lane campus, and am really attracted towards the idea of Telford Court. Of course I'm completely up for parties and socialising etc, but is Telford Court ALWAYS like this? I know it's hard to say because ultimately it depends on who you're living with, but I want somewhere where there are parties and everyone has fun but when it comes down to work, it's possible.
Any input? Thanks! -

Yes when it comes down to it, you can get down to work, if not then the LRC is only 5minutes walk away which is really helpful

Re: Hertfordshire accomodationRemove chapman, its too small and doesn't have communal areas IIRC.(Original post by laur-3)

Broad and Coales are only worth going for if you have no other option as the rooms and kitchens are tiny. -

Re: Hertfordshire accomodation
Hi all,
I just need some advice;
I'm going to be studying Aerospace Engineering at College Lane, but I really do like the accommodation at de Havilland, so I'm just wondering how would it be to travel from de Havilland to College lane for lectures ect?
Also, is there any advice on what should i put down for the other 3 choices? I honestly don't want too much of a loud place, but partying from time to time is good with me.
Thanks so much.

Re: Hertfordshire accomodationThe Roberts Way accommodation are like little houses with mostly 8 people living in them - 4 at the first floor and 4 at the ground floor with one double room at the ground floor as well.

The kitchens are quite smallish which is annoying at times but good enough for everything I guess. It's not a place to hold a huge party but good fun with just a few.
The shower (+toilet) is at the ground floor and is really quite large! then there is another toilet at the first floor.
The rooms are quite big I think, you can easily have a guest on the floor and still have lots of room left. I don't have much bad to say about the rooms really - there are good standard average rooms that would suit everyone. The only negative thing I got to say about them is that the carpet is brown (in my room it was anyways) and that can make the room look a lot darker at times so it is your job to make your room look good!
That is not a problem, shuttle busses run between the campuses till the early hours. The campuses aren't like miles from each other though, in your worst case scenario you would have to walk like 20 min(Original post by ...CoNfUsEd...)

Re: Hertfordshire accomodationThere are no ensuites at College lane meaning all showers/bathrooms are shared. Some accommodation types have sinks in the room itself.(Original post by holachica!)
On the accomodation for college lane it says something along the lines of every single room has its own shower and wash basin but bathrooms are shared? Does that mean there's a separate bathroom then apart from the shower youhve in your on room?
On the De Havilland accommodation has showers in the rooms.
