oh, and what are your thoughts on denim jackets? I've been meaning to get one, but not sure what to wear it with. Double denim is a no-no right? All I have to wear with it right now would be black jeans.

Debenhams, John Lewis, M&S will all do plain cufflinks, pretty cheaply and they'll ship next day. Go for plain square or rectangular "silver" (actually stainless steel or whatever), no fancy designs.
