this sweatshirt is actually quite a thin material so i figured would be nice for summer nights though im aware its poss a bit too casual and overpriced for what it is.

standard sky blue summer shirt really!
basically the polo and the shirt im practically decided on (returning the polo, keeping the shirt), though really unsure about the sweater! -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IINavy Blue or Khaki would go well. Light pink should be good too.(Original post by Turk)
will also be getting some shorts to go with the sky blue shirt later this week, what colour would go best? thinking of either some light pink or dark blue ones from uniqlo. -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIYeah they're decent quality for the price but they've been hijacked by chavs and the market has been ruined by fakes. Paul & Shark or MA.Strum are my favourite polo brands at the moment personally.(Original post by Ryan_94)
Fred Perry is probably one of the most classic polo shirts you could possibly get. Lyle and Scott is also a more "modern" take on it, seems as it has come into popularity more recently!
Lacoste polos are awesome in this weather as well because they're so light and airy feeling, but again they've kinda become popular amongst some horribly unfashionable people. -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIAgreed.(Original post by IanDangerously)
Paul & Shark or MA.Strum are my favourite polo brands at the moment personally -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIOh the irony of complaining that a particular brand is no longer fashionable because it is associated with chavs.(Original post by IanDangerously)

As everyone knows, only chavs care about brands in the first place, so that makes you what, a self-loathing chav? -

Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread II"The stereotype of a Chav includes wearing branded designer clothing"(Original post by Marshyy)
What? Don't be a tit.
Its entirely true. Its one of the biggest (and most accurate) stereotypes about chavs, gypsys and premiership footballers' WAGs and other assorted tasteless individuals is that they're easily impressed by ostentatious displays of wealth as exemplified by visible brandings on their clothes.
Its the acid test of taste:
prefer to focus on quality, cut and style: normal person
prefer to focus on "designer" brands and visible logos: chav
Even if you don't consider yourself a chav, wearing visibly branded clothes will make you look like one. -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread II
As an example, there is a gypsy camp about two miles away from my local village and they're barred from the local pub for fighting.
How do you think the landlord can tell whether they're gypsys or not?
In case you can't guess, the answer is its easy: they rock up with crocodiles and polo players splashed all over their chests. They might as well have "gypsy" tatooed on their foreheads. -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIThat statement has the word 'includes', meaning that there are also other factors. So to name that poster as a 'chav' purely because he mentioned liking certain brands is stupid.(Original post by py0alb)
"The stereotype of a Chav includes wearing branded designer clothing"
I wear stuff like Penfield, Barbour, Ralph Lauren, Timberland etc, and specifically look out for those sort of brands. Does that make me a chav? Cool. -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIWe're talking specifically about fashion. I never said the poster was a chav, I merely informed him that the concept of a non-chavvy brand is a contradiction in terms. All brands are intrinsically chavvy by their very nature, and everyone who thinks about fashion and style first and foremost in terms of brands has "chavvy" fashion sense.(Original post by Marshyy)

If the hat fits...I wear stuff like Penfield, Barbour, Ralph Lauren, Timberland etc, and specifically look out for those sort of brands. Does that make me a chav? Cool. -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIWhat brand is the hat? I wont wear it otherwise.(Original post by py0alb)

Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread II
Its amusing how everyone assumes that when they see a chav wearing a designer brand it must be a fake. In truth, the spending on designer brands follows a similar pattern to spending on cigarettes and stella artois: it varies in inverse proportion to income.
Off topic: hence the reason Stella's attempt to disassociate itself from its white trash "wifebeater" image by rebranding itself as "expensive" failed so hard. They should have realised that not only would chavs not be put off by drinking something known for being expensive, but they would actually seek out more of it to impress their social circle with their spending power. Its like a willy waving contest. Now Peroni has gone the same route and is quickly becoming the next wifebeater.
Nothing gives you bigger kudos in chav circles than wearing armani and drinking peroni. -
