The numerical test is completely over the top. Does anyone know how much better your chances are if you're a current employee of M&S?

I haven't done it (it isn't for me) but my partner will probably be doing it later or tomorrow. I'll let you know if we get a questionnaire after the numerical test.

    Hiya,
I applied earlier today and I think I may have messed up my verbal test!!! Did you guys get asked to complete the numerical test straight after completing the verbal test as all my application says is

"Applicant Status: Online Verbal Test Completed
Thank you for applying for our Trainee Management Scheme.

Line Managers are currently reviewing your responses.

Should you be successful, you will be invited to proceed to the next stage via email."

    help!!! hahaha

If it's the same as last year, you'll do all the tests and then immediately pick an assessment day I think; I mean, you definitely should have got the numerical test email straight-away after finishing the verbal test.

Yeah when i did my verbal it went straight to a page saying you have completed your verbal test.. You have now been invited to complete a numerical test
But then i didn't get invited to the one after that
But it had said that i had completed the application

From what I understand, if you don't get invited immediately it's because you scored below the set "guaranteed" score. However, it doesn't mean your application has failed, if everyone else does terribly as well, they'll reduce the limt and reconsider.

    You could always email

    Trainee.Management@marks-and-spencer.com

and ask whether or not there should have been an additional test immediately after the Numerical Testing one.

I did email them and asked. The test you do after the numerical testing is the OPQ test, and the reply I got was

"Thank you for your email. The OPQ test is only completed after we have reviewed all applications and invited candidates to complete it."

However, they might even say that to someone in regards to the numerical test after doing the verbal, so I don't know how true it is.

Hmm, we got an email back today saying

    "Thank you for your email.

I can confirm you have completed all the online tests. Your application
will remain on hold now until after the closing date when we will be
analysing all test scores and creating a benchmark.

We will contact your line manager directly for their support but we do
recommend that you tell them that you have applied.

May we take this opportunity to wish you the very best of luck."

So if they have rejected your application, I doubt it's for your scores...

I still think it is my score

" Thank you for participating in the numerical test. We have reviewed your score and on this occasion we will not be progressing your application. "

how long after your application was sent did you get a reply? btw, 25 mins for the numerical test is joke, the questions were reasonable but the time limit was ridiculous
