GCSE Maths November 2011

Hi, was just wondering who else is taking the maths exams early this year (in November instead of June), and whether they're usually easier or more difficult that the regular June ones
I'm pretty sure the November one is a retake, because looking at old past papers, they're easier compared to the June papers.

No, the difficulty definitely always remains constant. Awarding Bodies never change difficulty depending on what season the examination is taken in - that would give some candidates an unfair advantage.
I'm still pretty sure the maths exam in November is a retake. I mean, GCSEs are sat on the summer of Year 11, not the autumn.

No exams are classified as being 'retakes' - even if this is the time when most students retake. Retakes are no different from ordinary exams and anyone can sit the paper in November be it their first time or second.
