Well as the scale says, every 1 cm on the map is actually 250,000 cm. You know the distance is 10.4cm on the map, so whats the actual distance?

A scale 1:250,000 means that every 1 unit on the map represents 250,000 actual units.
So a distance of 1cm on the map would translate to 250,000cm.
1:250,000 basicallys shows that 1 cm on the map is equal to 250,000 cm on the ground.

Use a simple ratio method and solve.

10.4*250000=2600000 (distance in cm)
2600000/100000=26 (distance in km, because there are 100000 cm in a km)

250,000 times 10.4 = 2 600 000

so 2,600,000cm In km it would be 26km
