NHS Employment admin job
Hi,
I've just recieved an email telling me that I've got an interview!! Very excited but also nervous!
Was just wondering if anyone else has been to an NHS admin interview and what is was like/any tips?
Im really hoping that I do well as the salary is pretty impressive!
The email says there will be an accuracy test/intray-exercise - what are these/how can i prepare for them?
Any help would be great! -
Re: NHS Employment admin job
I've had previous interviews for NHS Admin jobs, there were various tests involved depending on the position.
An accuracy position to me sounds like testing your accuracy entering data - for example can you enter data fast but still maintain a good level of accuracy in typing.
In-tray tests usually test your ability to prioritise your workload, they want to see how organised you are.
It's worth Googling ideas on how to do these, usually you can find the answers on Yahoo answers or careers websites.
Usually they will ask you competency-based questions, some good examples of questions and answers you might get can be found here: http://jobsearch.about.com/od/interv.../adminasst.htm
Before you go for the interview, look at the questions and answers and also at the job advert, then prepare answers that are tailored to what the employer is looking for. That way you will be prepared for what they ask you in the interview.
Good luck and I hope you get the job.

Re: NHS Employment admin job
A really common trick on an intray test is to say that you have set period of time (say an hour) and then about half an hour in they change the time frame so you get less time than you originally thought. Be aware of that as a possibility and don't panic!
Otherwise, google is your friend - prepare the obvious questions, and check on there for some intray examples.
