Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?In short no. It will be a brand new league. So every player will be with their real life club.(Original post by Aky786UK)
The playing fields should be fair for all, so starting a new league might be best. Will I be able to carry on the club I'm managing atm and take part in a possible TSR league? If so, then I'm in.Last edited by MTR_10; 14-06-2011 at 01:18. Reason: spelling -
Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?What Game World are you in? Are there a lot of teams available to manage (like the bigger teams - Man Utd, Arsenal etc?). If so I would be happy to join your league but if the vast majority of teams are taken and players are all over the place then it could be a bit tricky...(Original post by Aky786UK)
Hmm, if there's a good number playing (and playing regularly rather than signing up and disappearing) then I'm happy to do a McLeish and email Aston Villa of my resignation and jump ship to riches elsewhere! -
Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?True. This happens a lot in the game. I've noticed that in the more popular game worlds it is near impossible to sign any decent players. Some teams just buy 200 of the world best players and leave them in the reserves. Kind of ruins the game IMO.(Original post by adamski93)
Yeah but you have to pay with a new league and also you have to question how popular it would be at the start anyway if we created one, it would end up us three/four buying players then people joining later may have well just joined a later wc etc
For now I'm joining the league mentioned above - World Championship 4804. Just choosing my team. -
Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?
I think it might be best to knock it on the head, small group of people playing and it's best to do this kinda thing with big numbers. Plus, the team I'm managing are doing OK. You guys playing, got gold membership?
Nice! Let me know who you go for.(Original post by MTR_10)

I've had limited success with transfer, although I have been slightly ambitious in my bidding but got some good deals recently. Lampard went for £30m!

Game World: 4804
Teams unmanaged: CSKA Moscow, Dynamo Kyiv, Estudiantes, Rangers, Spartak Moscow
There are teams which are COM managed, are those available if anyone is interested? -
Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?
I've bought two players from Real Madrid (Marouanne Chamakh for £11m and Javier Hernandez for £12.5m) and wanted to buy a third as it seemed clear the manager's having a sale on atm, but it said the bid had been blocked by the SMFA? Am I right in assuming buying more than two players from the same club brings suspicion?

Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?I think sometimes it can do yes so they restrict the clubs you can trade with to stop you buying all their best players for little money. Probably nothing serious - try again in a few days.(Original post by Aky786UK)

Which GK do you think is the better prospect?
Joe Hart
Manuel Neuer
Rene Adler -
Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?
^You mean in the game or reality? What are their ratings? Without that information, I'd probably go for Joe Hart. Neuer's good but he's already 26 so if you want a long term solution then Joe, something temporary and good success rate go for Neuer. Not sure about Adler at all, don't know much about him.
Also, in my messages list, it said "Real Madrid plan to splash the cash to capture Maxi Rodriguez" who is one of my players, which is a sort a transfer rumour mill style message. I quite liked that, how do I do that if interested a player?Last edited by Aky786UK; 30-06-2011 at 01:14. -
Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?In reality. I'm thinking of going for Neuer because Hart is going to be difficult to buy. Thing with Hart is that he doesn't really have many other players challenging him for England No.1 spot at the moment so it looks like he may keep it for a while.(Original post by Aky786UK)

To link yourself with a player: First find the player using the search or team squad and then click on the player. There is an option at the bottom that says shortlist player. If you add him to your shortlist you will then be linked with him. Also this allows you to see when other players bid for him so you can enter into a bidding war for the player. The other advantage of this is that you can see when the player rating increases. -
Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?
yeah i'm online and have been for a long time 192 reputation,
I am currently in charge of Borrusia Dortmund in World Championship 1860
Middlesbrough, English championship 140
Chelsea, English Championship 517
and Darlington, English Championship 601.
These appear to be quite good leagues with plenty of transfers going on regularly. -
Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?

Re: Anyone play Soccer Manager (Online game) ?
i used to play this a few years ago when it had only 15,000 members, it now has like 350,000

i found it a bit boring after a while, it favours people who have the time to manage their teams every day because its not like FM whereby you can play as an when you wish, with SM, if you dont play for a week or so you can lose matches and lose ground over other players, who cheated as well by managing multiple teams in the leagues i was in
