    Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to set up a scheduled task, I'm wanting it to happen every time a certain USB device is plugged in.

Anyone got any ideas? I've currently got "when an event is logged" using the System log. I'm not sure which source or event ID to use - any help?

    Rep for assistance.

    Cheers,

I'm guessing this is to backup to a USB device?

Probably easier to just create a scheduled task to backup to the mapped drive and leave it plugged in..

Yeah I'm looking to sync a folder from a location on my laptop to a location on my usb using SyncToy. Basically, both folders will be updated to contain the latest stuff I'm working on.

My USB isn't often plugged into my laptop due to work/college etc. and I'm not always at home so I can't just run it at say 4pm every day.

    Interesting..

Have you looked at the program 'Dropbox'. It automatically syncs file locations (normally for different computers). www.dropbox.com

    Insert USB drive.
Run a .BAT file that does what you need? Shouldn't be hard to program that with synctoy.
