OCR Biology - how do you interpret this sylabus point?

"Evaluate the experimental evidence for the role of Auxins in apical dominance"

..Or words to that effect.

I have two text books. The Heinemann one and the GCP one.

The heinemann book goes over the actual process by which various scientists came to their conclusions regarding the role of Auxins in apical dominance, whereas the GCP one focuses more on the idea of getting evidence given to you and drawing your own conclusions.

Personally I'm more inclined to agree with the GCP interpretation, but I'd like to know what TSR thinks.
