you need to purchase a domain first, for like £6 a year or so.

lol
GMAIL. It's what I use for business.
I have my own domain and use google apps. I was using my own mail server but did not want to risk it for a biscuit.

AOL
Hope I'm not too late!

Anyways I've got my own domain which is 'MyFirstName'.co.uk and I pay like £4.99 a year for it? Bought the domain via GoDaddy btw.

Then I've linked the domain with Microsoft Office 365 which by far is the most reliable and cheapest and I pay about £30 a year. So for my professional email address I pay like £35 a year which I feel is way worth it, I mean people would spend that on a T-Shirt these days. Also it makes a good impression when you have to give it out

Or you could buy a cheap domain then use it with Zoho. They provide free lifetime email with your custom domain. Best method if you are wanting to try it out but without spending too much.
