Re: Battlefield 3ah yeah thats the sort of thing that ruins the game sometimes but on good servers the mods usually pick up on this quickly and ban the player(Original post by ForensicShoe)
Had a guy frigging aimbotting with an SA80 across map. He'd stand on the cliffs at the back and pick people off by the train wreck!

Re: Battlefield 3
Few more things about it.
- Medic and Assault classes have merged. Assault class can drop med-kits, promoting more health packs on the field.
- Support class returns. Can use LMGs as well as bipods, able to deploy while prone and on chest high walls. Will be able to gain points by giving suppressive fire.
- Regional vehical damage. Target treads of tank to break them and stop tank, target turret to put turret out of commission, etc.
- Customizable and collectable dogtags. Only able to collect by performing stealth kills, not just any knife kill.
- Sniper rifle sway returns. Players will have to hold breath to steady their aim. Snipers able to attatch bipods to their rifles.
- Engineers get under-barrel flashlights. Can be very blinding when aimed at a player at close range.
- Squad Leader Spawning. Squads are still 4 players, but players can only spawn on the Squad Leader, where as the Squad Leader can spawn on any of his squadmates.
- Weapons will have 3 attatchment slots.
- No magnum ammo, or any other damage increasing perk/attatchment.

Re: Battlefield 3
It'll be interesting to see what will count as "suppressing fire", hopefully they'll have thought it through enough so there won't be players randomly blasting away at cover to point whore.
The bipod sounds like a cool idea, especially on the LMG's.
Overall sounds like it'll be very good

Would it mean hitting cover when a player is in a certain very close distance too give points, or hitting 'around them' in a certain distance counts.. or something like that? Seems complicated and not sure how it's going to work without some kind of exploitation.. but still looking forward to it =] -
Re: Battlefield 3I struggle to see how it could possibly be included in a game engine. Would the player have to be with in a certain distance to the object for it to then count as cover? Or does cover count as anything obscuring line of sight to the target?(Original post by Tommyjw)

Anyway, it should be very interesting; extremely psyched up for its release, not least because I've started ordering parts for my new computer with BF3 in mind -
Re: Battlefield 3Well i assume this means these assaults will miss out on under barrel smoke/grenades etc, so ownt be too bad. And it seems like a big 'change' , and an obvious one, so i imagine they will have balanced ir fairly well.(Original post by Mr Smurf)
I am a little worried that a squad of four all with Assualt+medikits will be unstoppable.
Especially on the console version where the maps are smaller with less players.
Ye same really. But given what games can do i imagine it wouldnt be too hard. Just hard to imagine because the idea is new (to me anyway)(Original post by Keckers)

And i'm still debating whether to get some new parts. £850 custom built tower from around end of November so hard to tell if i'll need anything xD. Given i don't mind not being on ultra high settings (but want it high). Maybe i'll wait :P -
Re: Battlefield 3I'm overclocking an unlocked intel i5 so hopefully the processing power will be there. My main issue will be with deciding between Directx10 and 11. I'm hoping I can push a pair of old SLI'ed GTX 275's into working Direct x 11, but you can only overclock so far... I could also use a fridge as a case if it gets ridiculously hot(Original post by Tommyjw)

Re: Battlefield 3Yes that is the case. But I think most will pick the medikit because of the revive ability. I rarely used the grenade and smoke launcher in Bad Company 2.(Original post by Tommyjw)

Re: Battlefield 3I did when i was bored. I was one of them sit down with ammo pack and noob tube everyone players ;D Only when i was bored though :P(Original post by Mr Smurf)

Re: Battlefield 3
Sit down with an ammo pack and spam smoke at anyone not attacking the objective. I got a lot of angry messages from recon classes for doing that though...
Is there any indication of BF3 having a lean button? I've been playing a lot of CoD1 rifle servers and I've fallen in love with it again :P -
Re: Battlefield 3have you never played battlefield 2? there were teams of 6 medics (or was it 5) and med packs everywhere, with what i thought was the best gun in the game (minus hte pkm before it got nerfed) and squads still got killed(Original post by Mr Smurf)

Re: Battlefield 3Only at my friends house. But I never came across such teams. My friend didn't either, but he was always obsessed with getting the jet first and would sometimes team kill if someone got it before him.(Original post by abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz)

although i was as well tbh haha but i'd never TK, that was gay
but yea if you ever played on a map like strike at karkand, infantry mode, i rekon the majority of people were medics and you'd get teams of medics sometimes -
Re: Battlefield 3I don't know the name of the maps. But my friends favourite was the one with the aircraft carrier.(Original post by abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz)

Re: Battlefield 3275's don't have the right architecture for DX11 no matter how much you overclock them, the best you will get are the DX10 feature with some of the bonuses from DX10(Original post by Keckers)

Re: Battlefield 3I imgaine the suppressing fire will be an attatchment. As from what I remember reading the supressing fire cannot kill the enemy. It just distorts their vision.(Original post by Tommyjw)

You know they're putting karkand in bf3!
