Re: AS Edexcel History: Henry VIII: Authority, Nation and Religion 1509-1540
I wouldn't mind one on the dissolution of the monasteries, but I dunno what'd I'd write about a question on the pilgrimage of grace. :/ If I remember rightly though a 20 marker on the pilgrimage come up a recently. I may be wrong though.

Re: AS Edexcel History: Henry VIII: Authority, Nation and Religion 1509-1540Wasn't there an a) question on the dissolution of the monasteries last year?(Original post by Henry VIII 109)
aha ah dont worry
okay - so the fact that Cromwell initiated the alliance with Cleves, which turned out to be unnecessary, is a key factor towards his fall? think I understand it now, unless what i just said was completely wrong - cheers!
what do you think about the possibility of a question on either of the dissolution of the monasteries or the pilgrimage of grace popping up?

Re: AS RETAKE: Edexcel Conflict & Consensus!I'm doing this too and my teacher thinks it could be on the 1945 election and why Attlee won.(Original post by Plonk)
I am, and am reasonably confident. I've been getting high A's in timed essays, but I do tend to go blank during exams. I've done up to the first Wilson government so far, and have tomorrow to look over the rest. Good luck to you, and to anyone else doing this exam.
PS, if anyone has any question predictions, please post them. -
Re: AS Edexcel History: Henry VIII: Authority, Nation and Religion 1509-1540
I hope both of them have come up recently and so are ruled out to be honest. Wolsey seems quite common so i'm not sure if that means it's likely to come up again or not come up?
Anyone have any tips on exam technique/how to successfully structure the answers? :/ -
Re: AS RETAKE: Edexcel Conflict & Consensus!really?(Original post by cab12)

Re: AS Edexcel History: Henry VIII: Authority, Nation and Religion 1509-1540January 2010= a) Wolsey's arrogance and unpopularity, and b) Henry VIII's foreign policy failed because lacked resources? and b) Main cause Reformation Anne Boleyn?(Original post by Emma1994)
Does anybody know what questions came up in January and June recently a) and b) ??
I'm not entirely sure about June 2010, but I think the a) was the dissolution of the greater monasteries and a b) was Cromwell's influence in shaping the Reformation.
As for this this January, the a was on Scotland, and a b was on Wolsey's influence over Henry. I think! -

It seems Wolsey has come up a lot recently, so maybe not on tomorrows paper.

Re: Edexcel AS History - Henry VIII; Authority, Nation and Religion 1509-1540My teacher said you dont need an introduction for part A but you do need a conclusion and for part B you need both an introduction and conclusions.(Original post by lagoom)
Does anyone know what the structure is? You don't need an introduction for part a but do you need one for part b?
And can you include points from your own knowledge in part b that are not in the sources?
Only use own knowledge as well as sources in part B.
Hope that helps
Lets hope we get nice sources tomorrow -
Re: AS Edexcel History: Henry VIII: Authority, Nation and Religion 1509-1540thanks. yeah think he became politically isolated on numerous occasions, marked by Ferdinand's abandonment at Navarre or something?(Original post by SBradford)
It failed for a few reasons: (that i can think of)
1. He couldn't take Paris in 1525
2. He was used by Maximillian and the Spanish guy (i think)
sorry to bother again, but having trouble finding relevance in the ten articles for fall of Cromwell? help?

Re: AS Edexcel History: Henry VIII: Authority, Nation and Religion 1509-1540Didn't Henry's foreign policy fail because Wolsey sided with the wrong side in 1527 eg France and then when he needed an annulment for Henry and Catherines marriage he ended up against Charles who was keeping the Pope a virtual prisoner so he had no chance of getting the Pope to agree as Charles did not want his aunt disgraced and in the end England was left isolated after Charles and Francis became friends. Henry blamed Wolsey for the failure.(Original post by Henry VIII 109)
can anyone clarify why henry vIII's foreign policy failed? I've been told by my teacher and others that it could well come up?
I am not entirely sure if that answers your question but I hope it helps in some way
