Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadI'll give you the grade boundaries for the past 5 years except 2006 which I can't find. All of these are out of 130 and are not percentages(Original post by kpopjpop)

60% is 78/130, so yes in 2009 it was in the high high 50s.Last edited by chr1stopher11; 18-05-2011 at 14:34. -
Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadAha, the penny has finally dropped.(Original post by soup)
It isn't 3x^-4 it would be (1/3)(x^-4) since the 3 was on the bottom.
38/40; bah! -
Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadYes I think so.(Original post by Joshp)
In paper 2, Question 1a I got the co-ordinates of B wrong but did all rest correctly, would I just lose 1 mark? -
Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadAs long as you don't get cos theta to be >:0, then yes!(Original post by Joshp)

Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadYES! I was thinking that as well. I only did about 3 different things, if that!(Original post by soup)
Did anyone think for the last question that there were a lot of marks for it? I was sitting there wondering where the hell these 9 marks were going to be given.
I actually thought most of the paper seemed that way as well - like the 10 mark integration question and that other 7 mark one. Hopefully it means it will be easier to pick up marks, right? Or am I just too optimistic? :P -

Was the size of angle BDM 40 degrees? -

Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadBut it also can't be 13 or greater. As root13-13 = 0 and you can't have a radius of length 0 units and also root13-14 (or any number greater than 13) will give you a math error on your calculator.(Original post by tompy123)
Hi guys!
In the second paper, the answer to question 7 is: p is greater than -23. I asked my maths teacher as soon as I came out of the exam if this was the right answer and she said it was.
I didn't get the -23 part but I got the p<13 part
