Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadoh, thank Christ, that's ten marks definitely in the bag(Original post by Marcus4004)
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3D%28x-2%29%28x^2%2B1%29 cuts x-axis once.
thank you Wolfram Alpha and your usefulness -
Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadI'm with you there. I know now that I've failed this. I can't even cry, I just feel like ****. Need to snap out of this before German!! **** my life. I hate maths, I hate it!(Original post by akalasa)
I'm not going to read this anymore - This is causing me to worry far too much!
Hope everyone gets the grades they deserve, and I wish everyone the best of luck for the rest of your exams

Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadChanges every year but it's usually around 75%(Original post by wboyd)
Question 16 in the multiple choice, was the answer a? And is it 70 percent for a A? -
Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadDid you see the last 2 questions of 2010's paper 2?!?!(Original post by mckinnon94)
God no it didn't!
I agree, easy paper 1.
But paper 2 wtf!?
10 mark Integration
Followed quickly by a 7 mark trigonometric integration.
Followed by a 9 mark Problem Solving!?
Give me an extra half hour in that exam, I would have had that problem solving sorted. had gotten so far when my time ran out. Had established both radiuses, both centres, the distance between both centres, and that p had to be less than --108 for my radius expression to hold true.
But I did the integration, and did the 7 marker, did every other question in the paper.
****ing 2010, first English and now Maths! Why're we getting the harder papers!?
I'm sure you'll've done better than you thought (it happends to practically everyone..) All the best. -
Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadIt's 2 and sqrt(-1) which has no solutions, therefore the only answer is 2.(Original post by smartpants)
there was a question where the graph cuts the x-axis and y-axis
f(x)= (x-2)(x2+1)
For x-axis i got 2 and +-1
For Y-axis I got -2 -
Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadMy friends and i got 21.something units squared.(Original post by brianduddy)
So what was the correct answer for the Integration Area question? -
Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadAhh okay thanks, I figured my answer was a little far out :L 48 or something.. should pick up the majority of the marks for my working though(Original post by Marcus4004)
My friends and i got 21.something units squared. -
Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadYou have to change the answer into radians(Original post by chr1stopher11)
Wait how did you get 5.25? -
Re: Higher Maths Post Mortem threadThe answer didn't lie in quadrant 1, it was in the 3rd (I think), so whatever you got you had to take away from 6.28 (2pi).(Original post by chr1stopher11)
Wait how did you get 5.25?
