    Right I thought the paper was standard but I got like negative number for my enthaply change calulation which I know is completely wrong but I showed ALL my working so it would be obvious that I punched numbers in my calculator wrong but then in most mark schemes if you got the sign wrong you get only one mark?

    And what does everyone think the marks will be for an A cause it was straightforward but I was dead easy to lose silly marks

    i swear the answer was negative? coz it was exothermic wasnt it? well loads of ppl in my skl got a negative number as well and yeh same i made some stupid mistakes lookin back, notmally its like 30 marks to lose for an A, the lowest was like 27 or summin, I hope this one is around 27 and least, coz i made some dumbmistakes, and lol 5 ppl think it was easy, not good :L

    i thought it was an ok paper but i knw quite a lot of people struggled on the exam
    loved section b especially the last question with the mechanisms
    normally theres 2 or 3 mechanisms but this time there were all four

    i reckon the grade boundaries might be going a little lower than usual. reason is because they were asking about all of the mechanisms that we had to know. with that excess amonia one. along with that they did more than usual definitions along with some hess' law, and they worded some of their questions in a bit more tricky way than they usualy do.

    But we'll just have to see. I reckon A would be about 69 or 70 out of 100. maybe a bit lower. But it won't go into one of the lowest we've ever seen.

    yeah, it's true actually, coz loads of ppl in my skl did past papers, thts it, and found it extremely hard, but the people who revised found it easier so i dunno, hope your right though

    there were only 3 mechanisms, elimination, electrophilic and nucleophilic. there were not four as far as i can remember. By the way can anyone confirm the mechanisms that came up in the unit 2 exam for chem.

    Can anyone explain to me the half equation of Mn02 ---> Mn2+

    I thought it was Mn02 - 2e + 4H+ --------> 2H20 + Mn2+

    But apparently its +2e i dont understand why ? surely if you add electrons it will give it a negative charge??
    Cheers in advance
    you cant put a negative reactant in a chemical equation, so we take it to the other side (like in maths) and becomes a positive
