Why am I so impatient?
I have noticed in the last few months that I'm really really impatient.
For example:
I can't stay still. My boyfriend gets angry with me because I can't lay still in bed when we're trying to sleep, I keep turning and changing positions for a hours before I fall asleep.
I am told constantly that I talk too fast by everyone: friends, family, colleagues, teachers, strangers.
When my house-mates and I go shopping I often end up splitting up from them because they are too slow. I don't care that it's anti-social because it's literally that frustrating going so slowly that I'd rather be anti-social than slow.
When we go out for a meal I want to leave as soon as I have finished eating. Literally the second I'm finished I start to get up, I don't even realise my friends are still eating.
When I'm listening to music, I increase the tempo on the computer because otherwise it's too slow to be enjoyable to listen to.
I always read the plot of a film on wikipedia before I go see it at the cinema. I hate having to wait 90 minutes to see what happens. I can't watch a film all the way through without getting bored.
Fair enough before I would say that I was just a busy person. But recently I have been so angry and frustrated and irritable by how slow everyone else is, and it seems like all the fun and enjoyment has been drained out of life because it's obscured by hours and hours of delay and tedium first. -
Re: Why am I so impatient?
everyone gets a bit impatient some times but christ on a bike you seem to be taking it to the extremes. increasing the tempo of the music you're listening to are you for real?! it's easy to just give in to frustrations but it might to do you some good to force yourself to endure people being a bit slower than you sometimes, it'll teach you to be more tolerant. you need to just chill out a bit or i think your head might actually explode!

Re: Why am I so impatient?
Have a look on the internet see if there are more people like you? Sometimes it's a relief to know that you're not on your own. Failing that, try and slow down a bit, there must be something that's worrying/bothering you to make you angry/irritable all the time. Try and relax and find out the problem. Seems like you're trying to keep yourself busy to take your mind off whatever it is. Force yourself to take life a bit slower, don't give into these little rituals you've made for yourself. Maybe then life will be more enjoyable for you, 'cos right now it doesn't sound like it. Good luck

Re: Why am I so impatient?
Why do you sound a lot like me! I hate having to go at the pace of others. And I do most of the things you've mentioned there bar the music thing because some songs are nice when they're slow.
It might be down to efficiency. There are some things I like to be efficient about and I like the "over and done with" attitude. Basically, I like progress. I want to fall asleep quickly so I do get the maximum sleep I can get. I like to break off from people in large groups because I feel like I can be more efficient at doing whatever we are doing by myself, etc. I think it has a lot to do with productivity, perhaps. -
