D1 Help

It's 9b)iii which has baffled me completely. Firstly don't know how to do it, secondly even with the aid of the mark scheme I don't know they got it. If necessary I will upload the rest of the question, it's just it seems to me the data used in that question I have uploaded (partb)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's the problem? Deriving the objective function, or maximazing it?

Most probably deriving the objective function because with other questions I've been able to maximise it, and deriving the objective function is the first step right?

OK, refering back to part a). The number of hampers is x+y+z

At the start of part b) we're told y=z (#standard = #luxury).

So x+ y + z = x + y + y = x + 2y, and that's what you're trying to maximise.

Thanks alot, I'm pretty sure I get that, just slightly uneasy that I couldn't work it out myself. :s-smilie:
