Ths is why i never put any CURRENT players on my toon tops. I go with classic players.

My away top has Dabizas 34 on it. Last seasons home Albert 27 & this seasons home has yet to be decided.
That's a good idea but I love a lot of our current players like Cabaye and Ameobi but am too afraid they'll leave, so don't get their names on my back. If I got a classic player it'd need to be a player who played when I was actually aware of what was going on at Newcastle (not when my parents took me and I didn't really have a clue what was happening).

That's well cool! My cousin has the shirt that Shay Given wore in his last game for us when we lost 5-1 to Liverpool at home and it's signed by him with a little message to my cousin. It still has the grass stains and from that day. Not as good as a Shearer shirt when you compare the circumstances but still cool.

    Still epic.

I've got my own Newcastle shirt from a few seasons back but no name/number on back...

Yeah old news but we put a bid in for Douglas.

I'm telling you, that guy is crazy when it comes to tackling, but it might be a good thing. WE have strength within the squad.

But who will Douglas replace? He's a central defender, so he could replace williamson.

I'm thinking of getting the Colo kit this year, mainly because I have the same long, curly hair thing going on. Not to mention he's the club captain coming off an extremely good season!

I can see what you guys mean about players that leave, though. I have a baseball jersey for the local team that I can't wear anymore because he went to a rival side...

The white-water rafting video on the official website is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.
The banter between them all is top class. :rofl2:

We've got a promising young (19 y/o) French striker/winger on trial at the moment by the name of Anthony Koura (iirc). Capped at all age levels so far and scored 2 in a reserves game.

Haha and to think, i'm seriously considering sticking on a bet on newcastle to finish top 2 this year (preferably 2nd). To finish behind a manchester club you can get about 80/1

Theres no more value in the handicap and top 4 betting market tho

Question is, where will be focusing our efforts? Will it just be a run of the mill season in both the cups and the league with average finishing positions, or will we mount a serious challenge for a cup/league position? We might even be relegated hahahaha.

I want to stick on another pure wedge this year (had some money on newcy top 4 @ about 66/1 last season) and not entirely sure what we will realistically challenge for Any ideas tsr peeps?

I think if we use the 4-3-3 formation on a regular basis along with keeping our 1st team players fit, then i don't see why we can't match last seasons' success (even if the likes of liverpool step it up a notch)
