Re: Law Applicants 2012Firstly, well done!(Original post by Jellybeany)
Hey guys i could use some advice!
Got offers for law at
Birmingham (AAA)
Manchester (AAB)
Manchester Met (ABB)
Nottingham Trent (BBB)
Thought id apply for a range cus i didnt think id get any offers tbh!
so pretty pleased.
Seen all of the Unis apart from Nottingham (Saturday) and Birmingham is my favourite but i really think itll be a struggle to get AAA
I really like Manchester as well.
Any advice would be appreciated!!
Second, choose out of Birmingham and Manchester - they're in another league to trent and met. If you think it might take a bit of work to get Birmingham( and you like it the most), why not set it as your firm and Manchester as your insurance, it's logical, no? -
Re: Law Applicants 2012Yeah I have an offer, I've just received an email to say that the last one has already been as it was on the day that I was invited to interview which I couldn't attend. They have offered me an alternate day where someone will show me round though which I am very grateful for!(Original post by narusku)
I'm sure you'll get an invitation for an open day if you get an offer -
Re: Law Applicants 2012Yeah they didn't. ): I think I'm going to call them about it either today or tomorrow. Cuz I sent them an email a while back and they didn't reply yet ):(Original post by SelPYH)
They did not have the law option to choose from. Have you tried? -
Re: Law Applicants 2012Do tell if they reply. Securities Commission increased their minimum requirement for A levels. May end up doing a DTP afterall(Original post by michiiru)

Hey just try to apply. Maybe they'll overlook that if you've got an offer from the university?

Re: Law Applicants 2012Email them and inform them about your results?(Original post by michiiru)
Just received a conditional offer from Notts.
AAB.
Weird cuz I had already received my A2 results in January. :\ -
Re: Law Applicants 2012I did. Around two months ago? I emailed them a copy of my official results a few days after I got the statement of results. Hmmm..(Original post by Akiraryuu)
Email them and inform them about your results? -
Re: Law Applicants 2012Well then if you're not planning on choosing Notts then just leave it(Original post by michiiru)

They take a long time replying to emails, in the end I had to call them!

Re: Law Applicants 2012Well I'm still waiting for Warwick still. Hopefully they'll give me a decision soon. Then I'll decide which to firm and which for insurance.(Original post by Akiraryuu)

Would like to ask TSR's opinion tho.
Kings, Nottingham and Exeter. Which to firm and which for insurance? -
Re: Law Applicants 2012Thanks for the reply(Original post by narusku)

Thats what i was thinking but what if i have a bad exam or a bad day or something (im not very positive haha
)
Worrying! -
Re: Law Applicants 2012I thought you can only firm and not choose an insurance because you have already achieved your A-level results? Though it is weird that the unis have not changed your status to unconditional yet.. I'd go for King's as it is UoL and in London!(Original post by michiiru)

Re: Law Applicants 2012I emailed Exeter about it few days ago and I received a reply today. They said that even though I had achieved my results, they couldn't change the offer on UCAS as long as I haven't firmed or insured any universities.(Original post by Akiraryuu)

I'm not sure how firming/insuring works tho. :\
Have you firmed Notts? -
Re: Law Applicants 2012Yep I firmed Notts a few weeks ago. Firming/insuring works only when you have a conditional offer. You can check out the UCAS page here.(Original post by michiiru)

Re: Law Applicants 2012I just realised from the page you linked that I need to decide where to firm by 9th May! I hope the scholarship organizations would make their decisions before that! D:(Original post by Akiraryuu)

Re: Law Applicants 2012I'll do that and I sure do hope so. Haha(Original post by michiiru)
And SC wants a hand-written essay! GRRR.
Hey just try to apply. Maybe they'll overlook that if you've got an offer from the university?
Let's just hope for the best for both of us

Re: Law Applicants 2012I'm also waiting... for 3 decisions.(Original post by greentealatte)
Can anybody tell me why it takes so long to hear back from Unis (this is just my nerves talking)
I have a feeling that they are waiting for people to firm/insurance/decline offers that they've given, so that they can determine how many more offers/rejections they need to give with reference to how many spots they have left.
Not sure though.
so pretty pleased.
I really like Manchester as well.
