I did mine before sending my application off, so its the date I sent my application off - a month.

So technically the day the university received your application? I'm stressing! But well done, where did you get offers from?

Yes :) but don't worry, people who applied even in Mid-October are only just now getting offers. No need to stress!
Thanks, Reading/Newcastle/Brum so far, Lancaster and UEA remaining, but Brum is my first choice and Reading my insurance so doesn't really matter. Where have you applied to/offers have you got? :)

That's awesome, congrats! Birmingham does seem amazing, I'd love to go to uni there.

And mine are Nottingham (LNAT!), Notts Trent, Sheffield, Cardiff and Essex, and an offer from Cardiff so far. It's Nottingham I'm most worried about, of course I'd love to go there though...

Well done! Yeah, Nottingham is a tough Uni to get into, but if you've done well on the LNAT and get the offer you will feel so happy when it finally comes through. How did you find the LNAT in difficulty?

Do you think if they were going to reject me they would have done it straight away? The wait is killing me but at the same time I don't want to hear anything too soon in fear of a rejection!

I thought it was different to the practice tests! I know we're not allowed to discuss any details but did you also find it quite mathematical? I don't know if those were there to catch us out though! And I thought the passages were ridiculously long compared to the practice ones. In terms of the essays... very broad  I would say it was what I expected to be honest, but I thought the passages were a bit too long. How about you?

Being a law applicant in London isn't easy.

Choosing a 'back up' university isn't easy when just about everywhere half-decent has started asking for AAA+!

I think that to be waiting long with no news is good news - it shows your application is being considered.

I didn't find it mathematical at all, but I think they have different sets of questions that they put together randomly for each individual exam. So yours might well have been! I thought most of the passages were okay in length, but there was one that made me want to commit suicide, and for that one I ended up just looking at the questions then looking through the passage for the answer. I was mainly worried about the essay which I still believe wasn't great despite my offer, I think the multiple choice which I found quite easy may have tipped it in my favour.

Anyway, I'm sure it went fine - most of us underestimate our performance in exams

When I say wait, I mean a day lol Maybe, just maybe, I should wait a bit longer... You're right though.

And either we did have a completely different set or I mucked mine up! Lots of mine were very maths based, with actual calculation! I felt the same about the essay. You must have done a half decent essay though with an offer from Birmingham in the bag

Don't you think the time just flies by?! The good thing was I was put into my own room away from the theory test takers.

Ahaha a day! Sorry braindead moment from me, you did your LNAT yesterday then? Since you got an offer, thought it had at least been a while, forgot about LNAT for Notts

Thanks, although 40 minutes seems a lot, under pressure it really isn't, so I still don't know how mine actually sounded. Might have been good after all lol

Yes, time seems to speed up! And same @ separate room, I had my own booth. Don't think I would have been able to concentrate otherwise - maybe they do it for all LNAT tests.

Yeah, every time my parents brought up applying to a London University for Law, I had to remind them of why it was unrealistic for me to do so (got AAA but other 2 grades not so good), plus wasn't being predicted an A*. Lucky that I want to move out and explore another area of the country though.

Lol yeah, what I meant to say is the wait may kill me I didn't apply yesterday though, I applied a couple of weeks ago but I was yet to take my LNAT, and yeah I did it yesterday.

Yeah they could do it for all of them, especially with all that hazard perception clicking going on!

    I know.

I was hoping I could rely on City or Brunel at least for a 'just-in-case-I-mess-everything-up' choice, but apparently they've started asking for AAA, and that hardly seems safe.

    Re: Law Applicants 2012
Hello, I hope to apply for law in 2012. My results are: History:C, English Literature:C and Classics A. I will be resitting both history and english literature this january. And will be applying as an international student. I have also taken the LNAT test and I am awaiting the results.

    My choices are:

    University of Glasgow
    University of Edinburgh
    University of Buckingham
    University of Newcastle
    University of Nottingham

I believe the University of Edinburgh requests students to have a GCSE in a foreign language. However, as I am already applying as a foreign student, does this really matter?

I would also like to know whether these university choices are good.

    Thanks for the help!

You need to ask them. Point out that you are a native speaker of Sinhala/Tamil and see what they say. If they say OK make sure that fact is somewhere in your UCAS form (ie the PS). If they say you still need a qualification put down a GCSE or IGCSE in the subject as pending and arrange to sit it next summer as a private candidate.

Are you sure about Brunel? The offers here still seem to be AAB

It would be slightly surprising because none of the others in a ring around London (Kent, Reading, Surrey, Essex) have been able to raise their offers to AAA despite being swamped with applicants because unless they significantly undercut the London universities no-one picks them as a firm or insurance choice (in a sense as you are demonstrating!)

Do as stated above, contact the University, it may be that they want a GCSE in a language other than your own, as opposed to simply not English.

The Universities you are looking at are very good, but be aware that Scots Law is different to English law; those are not all the same course.

I think being an international student often allows you to achieve slightly lower grades to get in, so as long as you qualify for application, you should be okay. Good luck.
